5/6 Tigers at White Sox
I really didn't like Stone's quote today about Ventura being here as long as he wants to be.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 6, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) As much as I love his impression of Harry, that one wasn't his best. Not sure where that southern accent belongs... He's always done it that way. The problem is everyone who does Harry Caray now is just doing Will Ferrell's impression. This is the best impression ever. Perfect.

Of course the Cardinals get a lead off single in the 9th. They're on fire.

If the Sox lose this game, they'll have the worst record in the league. But everything is fine.- Dick Allen

QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 6, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) Did you forget that suffering and pessimism defines the white sox? I prefer grouchy and realistic.

5/6 Tigers at White Sox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) Bonus points for enduring optimism! 3 more innings. Plenty of time. I'm generally not Mr. Optimism, but May 6th, man.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 6, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) Buehrle/Sabathia tonight...seems like old times. If Buehrle has a bad outing, he may be taking his first DL trip. He's been dealing with arm stuff. Buehrle 5 innings, 1 run. Came out after 77 pitches.

Ventura on his job status
QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Unless you think he should have foreseen Peavy's arm injury, that was a great deal -- the only thing we lost was money. Woe be to us that we lost Clayton Richard and Aaron Poreda! It was bad timing for what they tried to put around it, not necessarily the players they gave up. It's been 6 years of suck, on the whole.

Ventura on his job status
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2015 -> 02:19 PM) Who in the AL Central would you rather have been a fan of the last 10 years? Only one has won a title. I agree, they should have been better. But it certainly hasn't been paper bag over your head bad. Obviously I was talking about 2006-2015, but you probably knew that. If you want to get more specific, this organization has been a train wreck since the Peavy/Rios deals in 2009. They were dumb moves at the time, and they set back the organization a lot. I trust Hahn having more control and more of a plan, but let's not pretend the Sox are a team where everything is fine, and it's just been bad luck they have 4 playoff games in the last NINE seasons.

Ventura on his job status
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) Could be worse. The Royals didn't make if for 30 years, now they think they invented the game, after making it as a wild card. "Could be worse" doesn't excuse the Sox overall performance over the last decade.

Javy Guerra DFA
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 6, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) His arm is in a lot of trouble. He had a setback during ST and as of last week hasn't been able to throw off the mound. Basically, don't expect anything from Crain until you hear there is news on Crain. Yeah, I was up to date as of opening day. Haven't heard a word since.

Tom Koehler can tell his grandchildren about the day he gave up three homers to Bryce Harper.

Ventura on his job status
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2015 -> 12:57 PM) From all reports, Robin is the type of guy who if he thought they would be better off without him, would walk away. He doesn't need the money. The question is, would he do that during a season? I just want the Sox to win games and get back to a decent shot of contending for 88 wins. But if that possibility/probability goes away in the next couple weeks or month, a change will need to be made. Otherwise, they're just fooling themselves that Ventura is the man for this job.
