well lets get the winning streak going. i am superstitious, so that is why i am posting gibberish . :D

Saturday looks decent to play, if for some reason they can't play tonight. Sunday doesn't look like an all day rain. They'll play all three this weekend.

Hawk saying Votto would not play not working out oops.

Hawk saying Votto would not play not working out oops.

Not sure if anybody mentioned it here, but when Hawk said that he threw in a sarcastic comment about how Votto missing the series would be a crying shame. No big deal at all, but Votto is the flag-bearer for new school, so I'm sure it was a volley in the Hawk vs. sabermetrics battle. If Victor Martinez was set to miss games against us, Hawk would stow the sarcasm and still spend three innings explaining what a great 7-8-9th inning hitter he is.

It was a funny comment. You're reading too much into it. And he didn't say he'd definitely miss it either, just maybe.

Why would it be a volley in Hawk vs. sabermetrics? It's not only sabermetrics where Votto comes up huge. This isn't Ben Zobrist.

I'm sure Hawk would be very happy not to have to see if White Sox pitchers could get Votto out.

It really is weird people have this perception of Hawk as this egotistical asshole who is grumpy all the time. If you ever decide to take a White Sox road trip and stay in the team hotel, if you run into players, coaches, broadcasters, you won't meet anyone more friendly than Hawk.

I did explicitly say it was no big deal, guys. Just an observation. Not so much about Votto putting up good numbers but more his role as almost a spokesman. Again, I imagine if it was VMart he'd call it a crying shame and actually mean it.

Damn; I've wanted to see Votto play for years. I saw the Reds play at Wrigley a few years ago and he was out then, too.

Jason Marquis. I didn't know he was still around. Amazing.

Marquis vs Noesi on a warm humid night has high scoring game written all over it. Hope the Sox can out slug Cinci tonight.

Came in to say the same thing -- this should be a night for homers.

Setting the O/U on runs scored (assuming this one gets played) at 15.

Hoping they can get this one in. Weather looks abysmal from 6-Midnight tonight.

Yes it should. With storms coming from the southwest, I would imagine the wind will be blowing out between LF and CF. Should be a long high scoring game, and that does not include potential rain delays. :o

I'd say that's pretty accurate. I'll take the over. :)

Starters 5.41 ERA

Bullpen 2.86 ERA

Thankfully, they aren't 8-17.

Need a couple wins...now!

If the forecast holds true, this game is not happening. Even the Sod Father needs some time to recover from 1-3" of rain.

I would like to into their bullpen and see Kevin Gregg pitch this weekend. -0.8 WAR in 10.2 IP, for a cool 40.50 ERA. Reds fans started a change.org petition to DFA him.

So are the next two games a competition for who starts next Friday in Oakland, or does Rodon go back to the pen after tomorrow's game?

If Noesi has another dud its gonna be hard to keep throwing him out there.

Good call. Just checked the weather again and the rain is supposed to move in around 6pm and last roughly three hours. There's supposed to be a window between 9-12 so maybe the game can be played if we don't get too much rain.

If that's the case I hope they cancel it. That's a lousy way to treat fans.

The more I look at the weather, the more it looks like the game could be canceled. As a fan, I would not mind drinking for three hours waiting for the game to begin as long as the game gets played. ;)

On the other hand, I don't want to see players getting injured from a water logged baseball field either.

They won't cancel the game. They may postpone it though.
