  1. Was it bad base running that LaRoche didn't score on Avi's double, or is he just slow?
  2. Gibson on his way to a no-hitter, obviously.
  3. Carlos Quentin is retiring.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2015 -> 08:56 AM) Eaton looks like a guy who is already high strung. Throw on top of that the contract extension, he looks to me like a guy who is trying to justify his contract in every single play. He needs to relax and have some fun again. So true, and he's already talked about wanting to put up good numbers---because if he puts up good numbers, that helps the guys behind him put up good numbers. And obviously, that's just setting himself up to press and play bad baseball. He just needs to focus on fundamental baseball and let the numbers take care of itself.
  5. Get these three in Minnestoa, and come home and go 4-2, and all is forgiven. But if they suck the next nine games, serious changes have to be made.
  6. 30 games in May. Surprise us. Win 18 of them.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) The same thing could have been said about previous Sox teams, but that didn't matter. Sorry 7-14 is bum material. Should have hired Gardy they would be 15-6. You're cute
  8. It's going to be real interesting to see what the Sox record is when they get back from the 11-game road trip on June 4th. I'd probably give Robin that much time to get the ship on course, even though I think he's terrible. If they're buried in a month, drastic changes will have to be made, if Reinsdorf allows them.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) It was answered. But thank God they didn't fire Robin and hire that dope you liked that Texas hired. 7-14 with a $132 million payroll. He is awful. How's their disabled list looking? Thought so.
  10. This team has no f***ing leadership.
  11. Semien was just a goat. 6-2 Angels going to the bottom of the 9th. A's scored three to make it 6-5. Still had the bases loaded, with one out, and Semien popped up. Trout made an unbelievable catch to end the game.
  12. Noesi vs Nolasco on Saturday. Looking like the suspension appeals aren't getting dropped until after Detroit. If I had to guess, there will be six different Sox starters next week for the six games against the Tigers and Reds, and then Samardzija, Quintana, and Noesi will hit in Milwaukee.
  13. Eh, let's just give up. Trade everyone, and keep rebuilding. This team obviously can't win.
  14. Andrew McCutchen with his 1000th hit last night. He made his debut June 4, 2009-- the same day as Gordon Beckham.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) Of course they should. But games you should win, in baseball, are like 60% events, not 99% or 100%. It also only represents about 0.7% of the season - this isn't football. You really don't see the huge leap from "we should win this game" to "I seriously question this team if they don't"? I look at it as Chris Sale is our ace. He gets 30-32 starts. The Sox should win 75% of his starts with the rest of the team assembled now. Losing to Trevor May and the Twins shouldn't be one of them. As far as "I seriously question this team", I'm sure there's a bit of hyperbole there.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) Scary moment for Alcides Escobar, drilled in the face by Carasco tonite. Danny Salazar, not Carrasco.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) If you're willing to say that about any one regular season game, you must go through life being quite grumpy. That's silly. Chris Sale is on the mound against Trevor May. The Sox should win this particular game.
  18. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 06:21 AM) If the Sox don't win this game, I just don't know what to say about this team. I'm with you on this one.
  19. After Samardzija gave up the big inning, I can't imagine it was easy to focus as a Sox hitter. This was such a non-game after that. Move on to Minnesota and get a few wins...or four.
  20. Glad they didn't convince him to sign in spring training. Hope they don't sign him in the future. Don't get me wrong, he could end up having a decent season, but as far as giving him 5 or 6 years, nah, forget that.

QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) its not the pitch count somethings. it has to be about building confidence and thru that winning games. 5 innings is good enuf, esp in the beginning of the season. stretch them out come may You're wrong, but ok.

QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) nah, the factor is/was the coach should have started the pen. regardless. His pitch count was very low. You can only protect him so much.

Lakso said Black's error should have been a double play. Not excusing Johnson for a bad inning, but it's a factor.
