The Sox need a 4th outfielder that can play a significant amount of time in CF, since Eaton isn't likely to be a 150+ game/year type player. Ichiro isn't that guy anymore. BTW, good interview of Ichiro tonight on MLBN.

Rosenthal does a good job. It just depends on the overall picture of what Hahn and Co. are trying to accomplish this winter. They don't want to waste years of Sale and Abreu being on the same team, so it's a balancing act of going for it while not mortgaging the future.

I'll take a Levine story with a grain of salt, but I wouldn't mind if they traded Alexei. It's better to trade a guy a year too early than a year too late. They don't have to move him now, but they shouldn't be afraid to do it if the value coming back is worth it. The Yankees seem to be an obvious team that should be all over it, but what do they have that the Sox would want to be worth it?
