  1. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...le-scores.shtml Just noticed on B-R, they notate walk off wins on the results page. Kinda cool.
  2. Nestor Molina gives it up in the 9th. Terrible pitcher.
  3. Noesi hasn't won a game in forever. Maybe pull him now.
  4. Erik Johnson being bad/injured/whatever is really hurting this team.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2014 -> 07:36 PM) They might as well try to make him a reliever That would be doing him a favor. Polanco homered--didn't see that coming.
  6. Late May is Viciedo's hot "time zone". Hit a bomb.
  7. Davidson single on 0-2.
  8. Paulino at 98 in the first. Too bad he can't pitch.
  9. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20140523 Paulino vs Polanco should be interesting.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2014 -> 04:04 PM) For my sanity, hopefully we get a better player than the Cubs That's a good point. It would be easier to take the Cubs ending up with a better player if the Sox were at 3, and the Cubs were at 11 or something. Them being at 4 adds to the pressure--although it shouldn't.
  11. I want Aiken to be there and the Sox to take him. After that, I think I want Nola at a discount. Rodon and Kolek both really scare me. Rodon because he may be overrated, and Kolek because of the youth/power combo--will the elbow blow out fast and can he throw a mix of pitches for strikes. It's an interesting year. So--Aiken, Nola, Rodon. And with that--I'm sure we'll have a good laugh at all of this a couple years from now.
  12. Fun fact: Bob Iger, one of the candidates, is married to former sports babe Willow Bay. That's all I got on this topic.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2014 -> 10:55 AM) Honestly, I'll take 25 starts a year from him for next 5 years and be happy with it. Missing Sale 1.5 months a season is a recipe for never making the playoffs.
  14. Sale is great. Hopefully he'll get to a point where he can be relied on for 32-33 starts on a yearly basis.
  15. Whoever mentioned last night that the MLB Network was questioning whether Buehrle had a stretch of dominance like this, yes he has. Just not to begin a season. 2001- Starts 8-17: team 8-2, 6-1, 1.94 ERA 2002- Starts 7-16: team 6-4, 6-3, 2.33 ERA 2005- Starts 7-16: team 8-2, 6-0, 1.51 ERA 2007- Starts 12-21: team 6-4, 6-3, 2.18 ERA 2011- Starts 17-26: team 7-3, 5-1, 2.15 ERA He also had a 21 game stretch with 19 quality starts and a 2.54 ERA And with all of these stretches, he pitched a minimum of 71 innings. This year, Buehrle has thrown 66.2 innings.
  16. The Twins are tied for a wild card spot. The Twins. The Sox have made it this far without falling too far under .500. Get healthy, and you never know.
  17. Haven't shut out a team this season. How's that for a jinx?
  18. Rooting for Putnam to return for the 8th. edit: Webb in
