  1. When you have two wild cards and the difference between the playoffs and going home is one game, every game and every call is more important nowadays. I'd rather them get calls right, and if they have to tweak some things about it, they will. It's going to take some time.
  2. I like review. Get the calls right. And it will get better next year. This year will be sloppy.
  3. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 05:43 PM) Last few years I'd say we had zero chance in a game like this...completely different vibe this year. Nice feeling.... Yeah, not saying they're going to be .500, but this team looks like they'll score 75-100 runs more than last year. 702 was league average in 2013. Sox scored 598.
  4. Hawk might want to cool it a little on the Sox being a good club. How about going 4-5 times through the rotation and see what you got first?
  5. QUOTE (Iguchicago @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) The co announcer's voice and tone has to be the most annoying I've ever heard. I don't even think the main guy likes him. He doesn't even reply to him. Rex Hudler? Yeah, nobody likes him.
  6. Just in general, I wish check swings were more liberal on not swinging. It used to be a lot more loose.
  7. Home field umpiring. Terrible.
  8. Ok, I'm hot on the predictions. Sox win this 10-9 in 10 inn. Spanky with the game winner. Collect 10 cool points.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 05:04 PM) Can't say I'm enamored with our entire pitching staff at the moment sans Sale. Where's Guerra btw?... Guerra needs innings in Charlotte.
  10. Johnson will get better. Rookie stuff.
  11. This one feels like it will be 7-2 in about 7 minutes.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 04:46 PM) Pretty sure he went 0-3 or 0-4 last night. 2 popouts and a K
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) So no minimum amount of time to be on the DL to start the season? It's still retroactive to the last time you played in spring training. Technically, he could come off the DL tomorrow, but they're giving him a week of at bats.
  14. Maybe Zach Putnam or Surkamp.
  15. Nice to see the Red Sox lose on ring day.
  16. Sox need a legitimate long reliever in the pen. When you're going to lose anyway, you need one guy that's going to take one for the team, so you have a fresh pen the next day.
  17. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 12:41 PM) Anyone have KC's? https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/4521162...2201600/photo/1
  18. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/4521162...2201600/photo/1 Gillaspie back.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 09:39 AM) I'll go out on a limb and say Abreu gets his first career HR today to right center. That would be nice. Next week in Denver, he's hitting at least two.
  20. Wind blowing left to right 10-20 mph. De Aza 2 more?
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 01:37 AM) Especially when the weather's questionable. They also probably don't want him to face the pressure of starting the home opener. Just a theory. Yeah, I agree. Guthrie was scheduled for the home opener and they're sticking with it. Ventura will start next Wednesday, so it's possible he'll be in the bullpen today. On the Cy Chen stuff, the Sox have new players. It's a new year. Play fundamental baseball, and the Sox have a good shot to win a couple games this weekend.
  22. Davidson 3-3, 2 2b, BB, started 2 DPs
