  1. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) 70 degrees plus on Weds afternoon and I'll be there! Yeah, that series looks like decent weather. Enjoy it. Erik Johnson? Good luck!
  2. Let him finish. f*** it.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) Man I love Chris Sale.
  4. If Lindstrom comes in a 1-0 game, I won't watch.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Hawkins with a double and RBI. Wrong day, homie.
  8. Unfortunately, I think we're going to need the bullpen to get 5 or 6 outs.
  9. Old news now, but I'm glad the ump didn't toss Sale. Some would have.
  10. Hawkins homer from yesterday http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...99&sid=milb
  11. Sox are going to have some fights this year. Well, maybe not fights, but baseball fights.
  12. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 02:33 PM) No fair. The Royals manager is awake.
  13. David Purcey 6 up 6 down. Threw strikes.
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) On the bright side, Sale is looking very sharp. Yeah, I'd say he's a pretty good pitcher.
  15. Sac fly for Anderson RBI double for Hawkins.
  16. Axelrod- 5 ip, 6 h, 1 er, 0 bb, 7 k
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 01:56 PM) you can cancel the postgame show Send Melton home now.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) No matter what happens, think they will give Flowers at least two months before throwing in the towel. We've seen this show before. With both of them. Phegley's not a big leaguer. Just pointing out what's going on.
  19. Axelrod off to a good start. I think they said in spring he changed his mechanics a little bit. I know he's a whipping boy around here, but the Sox need a long reliever in the pen. If he puts up 3-4 good starts, and the pen still sucks, I wouldn't mind him coming back in May. --- Barnum RBI single Davidson 2 RBI doubles Phegley is swinging a hot bat.
  20. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 12:25 PM) I'll gladly take 3-3 after the first week. Yep. But more than anything, I want to see fundamentals by the players in the field, and pitchers throwing strikes. For today, let's see a Sale shutout and an Abreu bomb, and call it a day.
  21. Barons rained out
  22. Today's the day--Abreu is going deep.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 11:14 AM) Didn't he play the end of the season at Birmingham as an 18 year old in his first season? I don't think it's unrealistic that he thought he had a chance to get back there. I think it's unrealistic. But I'm not a teenager. No in 2012 he was in Kannapolis, and they moved him to W-S for their playoffs, and he was very good. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be a good assignment last year.
  24. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 11:07 AM) Laughable he's "eyeing" AA after three games, he was completely overmatched by High A all last season. I would be fine with him staying in Winston-Salem for the majority of the season. If he's tearing it up and they want to give him a taste of Birmingham for the playoffs or something, that's a different story. He doesn't deserve/need a promotion until then. That article was from January. He was talking about last year. I would hope they've managed his expectations at this point. It should be a year-by-year thing at this point. Hell, he's 20. If they can make his first opening day with the Sox in 2017 at age 23, what would be wrong with that? I would be ecstatic if they turn him around, and he ends up being an impact major league player.
