  1. Since the Sox were 24-24, they have gone 16-43. In those 59 games--Sale, Danks, Quintana, Santiago, and Rienzo have made 47 starts, and their ERA is 3.62. Peavy and Axelrod made 12 starts with a 7.39 ERA, but the current 5 have been wasted like no other staff.
  2. 55 left. 16-39 with two losses to Houston might get it done.

Giddy up. Is Semien forcing errors with his speed, or just bad defense?

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 07:13 PM) Another great play from Semien, ranging over the middle and making a tough throw on the run If a team wanted to pick up Alexei off waivers, and the Sox got nothing back, I'd be happy with that. Get this kid up and bring some new energy.
  5. I've seen this game.

Semien single, Garcia walk, Ishikawa triple. September lineup.

I noticed his home/road splits as well. The Charlotte schedule for his time there will be 13 home/19 road. It would be nice if he could develop into a 3B considering Beckham, Johnson, Sanchez, and Anderson are in the system.
  9. Somebody on Twitter is saying Barnum got a concussion at the play at the plate.
  10. Anyone over 30 years old should be on 1-2 year contracts while the Sox develop their own. No more Peavy, Rios, Dunn stuff when the rest of the team and farm system isn't good enough.
  11. With all due respect, there is 0% chance the Sox sign Ellsbury, nor would it be a good move right now for the team.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) Is he the most disappointing prospect in all of baseball? I'm sure he's up there. I'm liking Jacobs and Garcia in the system. If Hawkins is a bust, so be it. Baseball is so hard--to play and predict what a guy with "tools" is going to be.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) Hawkins 0-2, 2k Anderson 0-2 as well I'm done looking at the first guy's stats. It's going to be real interesting to see where he is a year from now.
  14. Semien- line out to left Garcia- ground out
  15. Rondon 0-2, 2 K. Welcome! Barnum double, and not in the game anymore. Not good. Was out on a play at home.
  16. Garcia is in. Semien, Garcia, and Morel due up next inning.
  17. Semien--single, double
  18. Hopefully Wise gets a couple AB's and Garcia replaces him.
  19. Batting 1.000.
  20. Angel Sanchez released to make room for Avisail Garcia.
  21. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) Is there another good player or two after Rodon or is he the only legitimately great pick? 10 months away, I don't see how anyone could know who is going to be a consensus number 1 or 2. Rodon is the college pitcher with the most buzz, but who knows what will happen in the next 10 months of amateur baseball. It's going to be nice to have options, but I hope there is an obvious pick that can't be debated for decades.
  22. Indians have 4-game sweeps of the Sox at home and in Chicago this season.
  23. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) This may be the worst Sox team I've ever had the misfortune of following. And now, Rick Hahn comes out to say Robin Ventura's job is safe, despite being the second worst team in the AL (thanks for switching, Houston!) I'm done caring about the Ventura situation. He's not going to be here in 2015, and the Sox are going to be irrelevant next year, so what's the point in getting upset anymore? A token firing, like Jeff Manto, will probably happen at the end of the season. And who knows, maybe Ventura will step aside on his own at the end of this year.
  24. Here's the interview... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=h...mp;dcid=CBS.CHI
  25. After hearing that, I feel a little better about the chances of August moves...Rios hopefully. I think Garcia is up within two weeks.
