  1. Anyone over 30 years old should be on 1-2 year contracts while the Sox develop their own. No more Peavy, Rios, Dunn stuff when the rest of the team and farm system isn't good enough.
  2. With all due respect, there is 0% chance the Sox sign Ellsbury, nor would it be a good move right now for the team.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) Is he the most disappointing prospect in all of baseball? I'm sure he's up there. I'm liking Jacobs and Garcia in the system. If Hawkins is a bust, so be it. Baseball is so hard--to play and predict what a guy with "tools" is going to be.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) Hawkins 0-2, 2k Anderson 0-2 as well I'm done looking at the first guy's stats. It's going to be real interesting to see where he is a year from now.
  5. Semien- line out to left Garcia- ground out
  6. Rondon 0-2, 2 K. Welcome! Barnum double, and not in the game anymore. Not good. Was out on a play at home.
  7. Garcia is in. Semien, Garcia, and Morel due up next inning.
  8. Semien--single, double
  9. Hopefully Wise gets a couple AB's and Garcia replaces him.
  10. Angel Sanchez released to make room for Avisail Garcia.
  11. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) Is there another good player or two after Rodon or is he the only legitimately great pick? 10 months away, I don't see how anyone could know who is going to be a consensus number 1 or 2. Rodon is the college pitcher with the most buzz, but who knows what will happen in the next 10 months of amateur baseball. It's going to be nice to have options, but I hope there is an obvious pick that can't be debated for decades.
  12. Indians have 4-game sweeps of the Sox at home and in Chicago this season.
  13. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) This may be the worst Sox team I've ever had the misfortune of following. And now, Rick Hahn comes out to say Robin Ventura's job is safe, despite being the second worst team in the AL (thanks for switching, Houston!) I'm done caring about the Ventura situation. He's not going to be here in 2015, and the Sox are going to be irrelevant next year, so what's the point in getting upset anymore? A token firing, like Jeff Manto, will probably happen at the end of the season. And who knows, maybe Ventura will step aside on his own at the end of this year.
  14. Here's the interview... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=h...mp;dcid=CBS.CHI
  15. After hearing that, I feel a little better about the chances of August moves...Rios hopefully. I think Garcia is up within two weeks.
  16. https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/36294...9426432/photo/1 The best part- lose when nobody is watching. Last 57 games... 16-41. With 57 games left, if they match that, they also match the 1970 team at 56-106. #TheRoadToRodon
  17. The Sox are in a position now where they can't afford to give 3-4 year contracts to guys in their 30's. It's gotta be young guys and veterans on 1-2 year contracts, while they try to rebuild the farm system. Lean times ahead, but they have to pay the price for doing it wrong the last five years.
  18. I'm just going to blame Darryl Boston like it's 1988.
  19. Axelrod ran out of fairy dust. That dude is toast.
  20. June 8-19 July 8-18 It's been a while since the Sox were this bad.
  21. Until Garcia is up, I'm taking a watching hiatus. I did catch the rundown earlier though. That was special.
