  1. Garcia should have stepped out there. These pitchers are so slow.

    http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130901 Winston-Salem played. Hawkins 0-4, 2 K. One game left. .174, 160 K's in 380 AB's.
  3. If they can't trade De Aza by the date to offer a contract, I could see him getting non-tendered.
  4. I'm ready to see what Erik Johnson can do for a few starts.
  5. http://baseballpress.com/lineup.php Might be dodging rain tonight and tomorrow.
  6. QUOTE (qwerty @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 09:24 AM) I just got to this. Which you would be correct. For some reason I was thinking back to the dead ball era when what I described was the case for a period of time. I have been scouring over my library of books (I have over five thousand), and for the life of me I cannot find my rule book that was from the 1940's and prior. I have read multiple stories on it in the past, and it is pissing me off to no end that I can't come across it. The rule was so asinine which is why it got changed, as rules seemingly get tweaked year to year based on how outlandish some tend to be time to time. No one has yet answered my question as to how a triple play can occur without the defense ever touching ball... This is not to say is has ever happened, but it is indeed a possibility. It would have to be on a bases loaded home run, and all of the runners pass each other on the bases.
  7. More trades like that please.
  8. Buehrle won in KC tonight. ERA under 4. Pretty good year.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) Um, why? The record of your lowest level affiliate shouldn't mean much when you don't send top talent there. His job is to take care of the guys and get them introduced to us pro baseball. Buddy Bell mentioned Gellinger probably wasn't going to keep managing.
  10. Fresh start for Hawkins next year. Hopefully being around Anderson, May, and Barnum will help him in some way, but he's got to forget about 2013 as soon as possible.

Wonder if Jason Berken is a call up candidate? Eat some innings after the 5th inning.

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130830 Mike Gellinger probably ended his managerial career tonight. Bristol 20-45.

  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) I'm guessing its for Rosh Hashana. Probably just a game, not the entire series. Good call.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) How many series is he taking off this year? I think it's in his contract to take a couple series off, but he had that long illness too.
  16. Dan Plesac filling in for Stone in NY. That should get annoying pretty quick.

Micah Johnson 3-5 in his AA debut.

Assuming Johnson is done tonight with 7 shutout innings, his ERA this season was 1.96 over 24 starts and 142 innings. 6-man the rest of the season?
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 07:34 PM) Best record in the majors over the last 10 games. SMH. Third best record since August 4th. http://www.baseball-reference.com/games/st...date=2013-08-04 (far right)

    http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130829 Johnson's last start.
  21. Mark Parent's son popped for 50 games.
  22. Could the 83 uniforms be out tonight because Sale wanted to wear them in his last home start of the season?
