2014 Schedule
The home and home series with the Cubs is also good for what they call "squeeze week". They pretty much need a week where they have two 2-game series and a 3-games series. It's better to use one close team than two different teams. And of course you're getting better attendance for a weekday series in May. It makes sense. Just for scheduling purposes, I wish they played the Cubs six games. Not for hype or bragging rights or anything like that, but just to keep the Sox in town more. More games in the same time zone. With season long interleague play, it would be cool once every ten years to play the Cubs on Opening Day or finish the season against them. It would be something new.

It's too bad Gillaspie isn't good enough to be an everyday player. You know he tries and cares, but he's just not good enough.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 08:06 PM) I feel sorry for EJ. Yeah, I'm sure everyone involved besides the Tigers would like a mulligan. Awful game.

6-0 Cubs. Also good because it would be nice if Pittsburgh can host the wildcard game if they don't win the division.

29 pitches. Hawk is right--one pitch can change an entire game. That ump is probably going to find out he blew it and feel bad about it. Or he should. That said, Cubs up 5-0 in Cinci.

Erik Johnson home debut. Garcia is back. Miggy is mad.

2014 Schedule
Can't complain too much about the schedule. They better start praying for good April weather now. A lot of home dates, plus Colorado and Detroit. 18 home games in August. If the Sox find a way to be a good team next year, they'll need a good August again.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 09:39 PM) Sale is at 113 pitches through 8, but screw it, I'd like him at least start the 9th. He is already on 6-7 day rest each start, and has 6 Ks over the past 3 innings. Not happening.
