I'm not usually one to complain about calls that could go either way, but that one was right down the middle.

This defense is terrible. Gillaspie's making just a ton of errors of late. With that said, that 1-2 pitch was certainly a strike.

So yeah, as I said last time, I'm still not impressed by Erik Johnson. Doesn't mean I think he's bad, or that he had no potential, but I mean from these 7 innings or whatever we have seen him pitch, I haven't thought he looks like a top prospect.

 

He did drop a sick curveball to the #2 hitter for Detroit though on an 0-1 count.

He threw a few sick cutters away to Miggy. I've seen some flashes so far. That being said I think their will be a learning curve as he adjusts to major leaguers laying off pitches that AAA players would be swinging at.

Three hitters, overall, hit into more DPs than any other spot. Part of Tango's research on batting order years ago.
