  1. OH YEAH!!!!!
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) The Sox arent going to get much for Rios, just my opinion. So you're saying they will get something...hmmmmm.
  3. Scot Gregor is saying the deadline is around noon on Saturday.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:54 AM) JIM BOWDEN ‏@JimBowdenESPNxm 7m Chance that the #White Sox trade Alex Rios to the #Rangers today "smaller than a bread basket" according to a source involved in trade talks FWIW. Bowden is a clown though. So you're tellin' me there's a chance... One hour...nothing will happen and Rios will start the first game.
  5. Look at the 2012 Reds and Giants for rotations that didn't need much help.
  6. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) So you guys think Rios is gone today or still be with the Sox or the rest of the season? I'm just assuming he stays. I understand why they don't just want to give him away, but if they did just shed the payroll, it wouldn't bother me. I know that's not the popular opinion, or necessarily the right thing, but I wouldn't care if they just let him go to get the money off the books and get Garcia in the lineup.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 09:19 AM) I just noticed on the Sox website that Garcia is not listed on the 40 man roster. He has to be there, right? He had to be on the Tigers 40 man roster since he was in the majors this season, and you can't lose your roster spot without clearing waviers, even if you're traded. Is this just an oversight on the website? I noticed that the other day too. He has to be on the 40-man. That's just a mistake.

  13. I would think Rios is worth just about the same the Sox got from the Boston deals...2-3 lower level prospects, or 1 mid-level prospect. Plus they would be taking the salary for 2014. If this trade happens now, great. If it doesn't, that's ok too because they should be able to move him in the offseason. But I hope they get this done now to get Garcia in there.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) I would expect this to take longer than 24 hours to figure out. Even if Hahn is willing to let Rios go for nothing, he's at least going to attempt to get something of value for him. Like iamshack said, expect a 72 hour game of chicken. Ok, by Monday then. Rios is the past. Garcia is the future. Let's get on with it.
  15. Really hope Rios has played his last game in a Sox uniform, and get Garcia in the lineup on Friday.

  17. Things just got interesting.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 08:28 AM) Tied with the Marlins for the 2nd/3rd pick, they're 5 games "up" on Milwaukee for the 4th pick, and 6.5 games "up" on the Cubs and Twins for the 5th/6th pick. They can win a couple here and there, especially when it's a sweep of the f***ing Yankees All ties go to the Astros, Marlins, and Brewers since they were worse in 2012, so subtract a game on those leads. If the Sox fall to the 4th pick, I'm not going to cry. If they draft 5 or lower, they won too much.
  19. Holy f***, how many more times is Hawk going to talk about that game in KC with the rookie pitchers? As if that's proof the farm system is good. 8 rookie pitchers. Ok, Omogrosso, Axelrod, Septimo, and Marinez were in there. Big deal. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KC...201207130.shtml BTW--Hawk keeps saying 10 rookie pitchers. Wrong.

Semien adds two walks. He's the s***. Garcia hit into DP, then 2-RBI single.

    http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130807 Semien double, Garcia walk.
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 7, 2013 -> 11:43 AM) A lot of things are going to change between now and the draft. Astros are going to have the #1 pick though. That's true. Even if the Sox lose tonight, they would have to be 6 games worse than the Astros in the final 50 games, because tie goes to the Astros. Just play .400 ball, lose 100 games, and we'll get the 2nd or 3rd pick.
  23. The month of May absolutely killed the Royals, but I still think they can be the hot team the rest of the way. The second wildcard is not out of the question if they keep pitching.
  24. yay. 1 of the 8 wins this month if it's anything like June and July.
