  1. The Sox can posture all they want, and not pull Peavy from his scheduled start until the last minute, but they'd be dumb not to trade him before then. It sounds like they're getting plenty of offers from different teams. It's time to force team's hands today for best and final offers and pick one. I still say he gets traded today sometime....Tuesday morning at the latest.
  2. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 09:20 AM) Good question, I bet most of the preliminary negotiona are done through text and then once it gets more serious the phone are picked up. It would be a cool show if they just followed a GM around for a week before the deadline and gave fans all access on how it goes. I know we had "The Show" about our very own just wasn't as detailed as I hoped. Ah yes, when Kenny couldn't help himself and had to get Edwin Jackson...who may or may not have been going to Washington for Dunn. Good times.
  3. 55 hours to go. A huge 55 hours that could impact the future of the franchise. No pressure, or anything.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 07:28 PM) I'm pretty confident Peavy will be moved...and probably Lindstrom too...as for anyone else...I dunno That's where I'm at too. I just hope they don't get to November and December and really regret something about late July. But will we ever know what they could have done? Probably not, and they'll lie about it anyway.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) Well what the hell do we talk about now? Breaking Bad starts in two weeks. Hank's been sitting on the can for over a year.
  6. Dude on Twitter is saying he's back in the dugout watching the game.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) OK, let me rephrase the question--do you know for a fact that he's been traded or is it speculation? It was a joke. Like if a guy gets pulled early this time of year, it automatically means he's traded...which he's not probably. I'll start using j/k or ha's.
  8. Only 69 more hours of nonsense, speculation, fear, and outrage.
  9. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 06:02 PM) Confirmation that he's been traded or just an assumption? Neither.
  10. Spencer Arroyo got pulled from the Birmingham game around the same time. That would be funny if there was a deal there. Probably not though.
  11. Semien walked again. I think that's 14 out of 15 getting on base.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 05:33 PM) Yes, every manager should be judged on his win loss. When the payroll is over 100 million, yes he should. He's getting a free pass because he's Robin Ventura. If Mark Parent or Joe McEwing got the job at the same time, and the team was playing like this, everyone would be calling for the manager's head.
  13. Trayce Thompson homer. Spencer Arroyo pulled after 4 innings (traded!)
  14. Sox 16-38 the last 54 games. That's two months of playing .296 baseball. But Ventura is doing a fine job.
  15. Konerko with a gem: https://twitter.com/scotgregor/status/361609448223031298
  16. Semien K, BB, 2-run single
  17. Alright, let's see if he gets on the plane....
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 12:08 PM) i don't think there would be a need for that. Cards would get a starter to fit in right behind Wainwright and an obvious SS upgrade all signed through next year. No chance we need to add to that. I hope not, but I'm giddy thinking about a team taking Alexei's contract off our hands.
  19. If the Sox move Peavy and Ramirez to St. Louis, and the Sox get back Wong and other good prospects, maybe the Sox have to include a minor leaguer that's not quite ready, but potentially good...like Micah Johnson. We'll see in 75 hours or less.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) What new shows are you guys going to check out in the fall?? Thinking I might try some of the new comedies on CBS and also Hostage Fox is doing a remake of Gavin & Stacey, a BBC show that was on a few years. Here's the pilot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aukqHmIOMys Here's the trailer for Fox's Us & Them, which is a mid-season replacement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0oMySm9Hew I'm hoping it's good, but can't see how they can translate it to the US.
  21. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 08:36 AM) Who are the Sox getting for him? No idea where he's going, but I think they'll get that wrapped up before he's supposed to pitch again. It just doesn't make sense for the Sox to have him throw another pitch if they intend to trade him. And there are too many teams that want him not to get a deal done. I'll be stunned if he's the scheduled pitcher for the Sox on Tuesday morning for that night's game.
  22. Peavy is getting traded Monday. They won't get to his start day.

Hawkins 0-4, 2 k's. Buddy Bell thinks his 18 HR, 50+ RBI are just fine though. Beck 6 shutout innings, 4 ks
