  1. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) He knows his stuff, but crap if he's pissed again it's just plain childish and stupid I think he probably had a flight to Arizona, and got to leave early. But he probably planned it that way just in case this s*** happened.
  2. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 03:56 PM) He's being a wuss lately, getting tired of his crap I've never understood why some people like his style. Hated him with the Cubs. Hate him now.
  3. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) Still no sign of stone He probably planned an early exit just for this reason. Smart guy.
  4. Purcey in. He's just the guy to end this first half.
  5. Go 19 innings. Is Stone there?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) I love this reaction. "He's doing great! They must have screwed something up!" It was more of a different way of saying "Good job, Josh". I wasn't trying to start a conversation about the Sox took too long to bring him up. I mean, yeah, it could have been a month earlier. But, whatever.
  7. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 03:28 PM) Where's stone? 100% he's pissed.
  8. What took them so long to bring him up?

    QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) Trayce Thompson now 3-46 with 4 walks during July, and he's been caught stealing twice You can see why they want to bring in another guy like Jacobs. It's a numbers game. Hopefully one of them reaches the majors.

    Peavy loaded the bases in the 5th, but got out of it. 90 pitches, 57 strikes He's out after 5.
  11. Hit. Leyland can breathe easy. Well, maybe rest easy is a better word.
  12. Verlander no hitter thru 6. Pushing 100 pitches.

    Scoreless 2nd inning for Peavy. Inning ended with a lineout to Peavy. Don't get hurt now.

    QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 01:29 PM) When will Jacobs make his debut? Still not listed on the Barons' roster yet. It's the All Star break for them too, so Thursday. They probably gave him a couple days to get his life stuff together---place to live, moving, etc.
  15. 1-2-3 inning for Peavy in Huntsville.

    QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) Great question. Jeromy Burnitz is so far the best example I can come up with. He was pretty terrible in AAA at 23 years old, but his K rate was never anywhere near that bad in the minors. I went through players in the majors that hit over 250 career homers. Nobody had a season like Hawkins, with the low batting average, high K rate, and low OBP. He has 102 K's in 57 games. That's worthy of calling him a bust already, but it would be pretty unfair to put that on a 19 year-old. But if he doesn't turn it around this season or in 2014, he's done as a hitter. The good ones are just good, even at 19 or 20.

    http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130714 Peavy starts.
  18. Konerko starting a rehab assignment on Thursday.
  19. De Aza 8, Ramirez 6, Rios 9, Dunn 3, Viciedo 7, Keppinger 4, Phegley 2, Morel 5, Quintana 1 This should be a quick game. Both teams have incentive not to care today.
  20. Sunday's game should be high energy. 2:15 max.
