2013 Spring Training catch all thread
It's going to be a cold first week of baseball. Just hope they get all the games in and come away with at least four wins. With the new schedule being only one series home and away against the other two divisions and more interleague play, this could be the year of the makeup game. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/chicago-i...?monyr=4/1/2013

ST: 3/26 vs Rangers
I'm really liking what I've seen from Viciedo this spring. He seems more closed and waiting on the ball longer. The leg kick may have done the trick. http://www.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?c_id=cws...0130326_6668724

Sox announce next round of cuts
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) Not worried, just curious what the thought process is, on how they decide these things. Since they can use minor leaguers in games anyway, and there are players who already know they won't make it barring injury... why the theater? Why bother announcing reassignments at all? Yeah, I'm not sure what goes into that. Like, why did they option Jordan Danks and Blake Tekotte at the same time, but they've brought Brandon Short and Stefan Gartrell up from minor league since then? Don't know.

Sox announce next round of cuts
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) I don't get keeping Tolleson and Bell in camp, they aren't getting jobs for OD. Anderson I get, they always keep a 3rd catcher around in AZ. Omogrosso and Troncoso are in the running for Crain's spot if he isn't ready... but Gray? I wouldn't really read into too much. They'll probably be down to 27 or 28 by the time they get on the plane tomorrow.

Sox announce next round of cuts
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) So there are no roster decisions to make? Not really. The only thing up in the air is if Crain will be ready. If he can't go, I think Omogrosso has an edge on Troncoso.

Sox announce next round of cuts
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Who are the extra six left in camp right now? Omogrosso, one of the catchers (Phegley I think), and who else? Gray, Omogrosso, Troncoso, Anderson (not Phegley) Tolleson, Bell

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) You must have been looking at the wrong day, yesterday the projected high was 41 for Monday, but 54 for Sunday and 52 for Tuesday. Today the Monday high down to 38...yikes. Yep, it's been downgraded since then. I look at accuweather. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/chicago-i...?monyr=4/1/2013 Hopefully they are able to play Wednesday and Thursday, otherwise it will mean a doubleheader in late July.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) I'm willing to bet that the 2014 MLB schedule will not include home dates on September 4 for any of the following teams: Rangers Phillies Tigers Orioles Pirates Reds Mariners Cardinals Royals A's At the very least, don't schedule the first game of a 4-game series on that day. If it's the 4th game of a 4-game series, then they usually have a day game anyway. But in this case, the Orioles and Sox had no obligation to change the start time, and I'm glad they didn't.
