2013 Spring Training catch all thread
Just for the hell of it, I checked the attendance of all the games played in Arizona yesterday--beautiful Saturday afternoon, deeper into spring training now... Rockies- 12,427 Giants- 11,738 Indians- 11,023 Rangers- 10,199 Cubs- 9,918 A's- 8,739 Padres- 8,526 Brewers- 6,083 White Sox- 5,547 I can see proximity being a factor for the Sox fan base making their way out to Arizona, but I feel like the Sox fan base is just eroding with time. It's a football city, and hardly anyone is going to use their "fun money" to go to Phoenix for exhibition baseball. And our Chicagoland retirees are more likely in Florida than Arizona--at least I think so. I've been out there once and drove down to Tucson when they trained there. It's a good time, but I guess it's a tough sell to get Sox fans out there for ST.

15 days away, but the opening day high temp is supposed to be 59. I'd take that.

ST: 3/16 vs Oakland- Sale starts
Not good results for Sale today, but he was close to 90 pitches. Two more spring starts.

ST: 3/16 vs Oakland- Sale starts
Sale a little rusty with his control today. Defense didn't help in that 3 run inning.

Orioles send down Dylan Bundy. He'll be back.

World Baseball Classic
Harold Reynolds just ruins everything he touches. I'm trying to watch some WBC, but he just makes it hard to watch.

Sox announce next round of cuts
Obviously Carlos Sanchez won't be making the team, but I think with him still around, they're taking a real long look at him. They know he's close.

Carlos Sanchez is the only player still in big league camp without any major league experience.

2013 Win-Loss Prediction Thread - Annual and Official
If 83-86 were a choice, I'd pick that. 85 is my pick. A few wins short of the second wild card. We need 50 wins on July 8th to have a chance, because it's ridiculous to think this team will be a second half team while playing the Tigers 19 times.

Feeling Nostalgic
QUOTE (SmashROT @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Trippy man... What's with the 59 second loop of scrolling text at the end? I thought the same thing, but that's probably where they had voice overs for the sponsors.

ST: 3/14 at Angels
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) Just my opinion on where he should be in the rotation though 3rd is where he will probably end up to keep the rotation LRLRL. Could switch him with Quintana. They could, but right now Danks is scheduled for April 4. To push him back to April 6th or 7th would seem to be pointless. So, to me, it's either April 4th or it'll be mid- to late April if he's not ready to go.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 14, 2013 -> 04:52 PM) His 3rd start . I didn't expect much . Had a rough go but looked like he threw all his pitches but command not sharp. Really not surprising at all. Looks like he's right on schedule to be Sox 4th or 5th starter. 3rd

ST: 3/13 vs Indians
QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 04:29 PM) Was just thinking the same thing on that "Wild pitch" Ommogrosso has really good stuff. Never noticed last year. I wonder if Crain starts the season on the DL if they would go with him for the bullpen Omo might make it if Crain is hurt, but they also like Ramon Troncoso.

ST: 3/13 vs Indians
Lineups: http://baseballpress.com/lineup.php Video: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...96&c_id=cws Rienzo, Heath, Stewart, Omogrosso, Rodriguez, Gray scheduled to pitch. Peavy, Thornton, Jones, Lindstrom, Veal, and Reed throwing this morning in a minor league game. I wonder if the Sox are the most paranoid team about having their pitchers face division foes in spring training.
