Good deal for both sides. It may be a deal the Sox wouldn't have been able to do a year from now. And from Sale's standpoint, it gives him security. He'll be 30 when the deal ends.

If it's just locking up his arb years, and maybe a year of free agency, then it doesn't sound like it would be bad deal right now. It's not like this will be a 7-8 year deal.

Not sure if they will, but the Sox could conceivably have a workout at the Cell three weeks from today. This snow better get melting.
