QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) I they could get a nice package for Dunn (probably a NL team), I'm all for it. In a NY second.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) I don't want KW as part of a rebuilding. If they don't make the postseason KW needs to go. That almost goes without saying. Long overdue. They should have cleaned house after last season.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) It would be viewed as White Flag II You know White Flag '97 was bulls***, right? The 97 Sox weren't going to win that division. And if the Sox are 52-48 a week from now, I'll have no confidence in this team to get to the postseason. Unfortunately, that second wild card will fool everyone into thinking they're in it. Obviously, Kenny isn't going to sell. I would want him to, but he won't. Right now, I'm very worried about what Peavy and Sale can do the rest of the season. They've been great, but we're seeing velocity go down for Sale, and location problems for Peavy. And the offense has been nothing short of terrible. Ventura doesn't make any adjustments. So we'll lose because that's what they deserve.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) That would set this franchise back 5 years. No, not really.

Let's shut down Sale, and trade Youkilis, Crain, Thornton, Peavy, Floyd, and Myers. (This is my post a week from now after going 2-4)

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) Who won the British Open? Els. Scott bogeyed 15, 16, 17, and 18. Lost by 1.

Aaron Hill available? Beckham needs to start over somewhere else. The NL would be good for him.

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) Speaking of Konerko, I actually fear he won't reach 20 Hr, he looks totally lost at the plate. Unless he somehow gets back his head right and swing goes back to normal I think his power has gone. From Hall of Fame talk to "get the hell out of town", in 2 months.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) Letting MT see the 9th inning EVER is at the top of the list to me. I thought about going back to edit my post, but I figured somebody would bring that up. Yeah, that's an obvious one.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) It's sad the Sox apparently have decided a 50 percent Paulie shouldn't be shut down. Hei's got to be hurt; he couldn't get this bad so quickly after dominating pitching the past couple seasons. This is on the Sox management team. I've seen a lot of management decisions this season that could be the difference. Having Santiago close. Sticking with Morel in the 2-hole. Sticking with Morel. Period. Not letting Quintana finish a 1-0 game after 77 pitches in LA. Not adjusting the lineup when guys go cold. It's a fine line between 86 and 91 wins. And the Sox do things that hurt them because of loyalty and stubborness.

Orioles score 2 on Cleveland in the first. Too bad. We're rooting for Indians now.

QUOTE (northside sawx @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 01:18 PM) MiLB has Molina going tonight for BIRM... that cant be right, can it? No, those things are often wrong. He's on the DL.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Victory lap for Adam Scott tomorrow. Or not. +3 today would have done it.

Sanchez is starting to look very promising.

Will the next Sox-Tigers series at the Cell be meaningful?
flavum replied to SouthSidePride05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
When that series starts, there will be 23 games left. My guess is the Sox will be 3-5 games back when it starts. We'll be doing math problems, like if the Sox win 3 of 4, we'll be 2 out with 19 left. And then the Tigers will run the table with their weak schedule at the end. -
I can't explain it, but coolstandings still favors the Sox in the division race. http://www.coolstandings.com/baseball_stan...sn=2012&i=1

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) This is just for me to look back at... The Sox need to be at 73-57 with a 2 game lead on Detroit going into the final 32 on August 31. This still stands. Go 23-13 the next 36, and we're all good.

I put Myers in the Manny Ramirez category. I'll root for the logo, but I don't like him and I would have rather they didn't trade for a guy like that. And if they interview him, I won't watch or listen to anything he says. That's how I'll handle his time here.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) I'm not giving up on the division but I'm willing to bet the White Sox are better than every single one of these teams you mention. I see a bunch of flawed teams competing to lose to the Angels in a 1-game playoff.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) Take a poll: if you'd asked fans if they would take being .5 games out of 1st on July 21st would they take it? People have to stop talking like this. Seriously. Look at the payroll. Look at the players Kenny acquired over the years to win nothing, that actually did something in the first 84 games. This team is supposed to win games. The "would you have taken" scenarios are ridiculous.
