Ricky Romero-- what the? 6 walks and 4 hits in 1.1 inn. 8 runs. I give the Jays credit for hanging around .500, but they're not going to be a winning team over the next 10 weeks with mostly division games.

Beckham - could this be it for him?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) Last I heard the Dbacks were pretty happy with Hill. What could the Sox offer that would make them change their mind? No clue. If it were to happen, it would be something unexpected and probably have tons of parts. Just giving an example of the type of trade Beckham could go in before the deadline.

Beckham - could this be it for him?
QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) I just don't understand what sort of package you're referring to. Are you thinking that Beckham has value as a piece of an upgrade to the rotation or something? That I could see, but we're not gonna get a 2b back if we do that, and we will be stuck with Hudson or Escobar like you said you didn't want. He's probably not getting traded before the deadline. I'm just saying that if a deal called for Beckham, they wouldn't hesitate moving him like they would have 2-3 years ago. Say the Diamondbacks and Sox got together on something bigger, and Beckham and Aaron Hill were part of it? Something like that. It probably won't happen, but that's what I'm talking about.

Beckham - could this be it for him?
QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 11:55 AM) Why would we trade Beckham for another 2B of equivalent calibre? If not equivalent calibre, why would they give this player up for Beckham? Package deal, not one-for-one. That should have gone without saying.

Dempster isn't making any fans with all of this. And his Harry Caray sucks, too.

Beckham - could this be it for him?
QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) And just play Hudson at 2B for the rest of the season or something? Beckham's playing badly, but I'd rather have him for 60ish games than Hudson or Escobar. I just don't see how such a move makes sense. No, I don't think it will be Escobar or Hudson either. I'm saying they'll trade him for another major league 2B if the right deal is available. If not, he stays the rest of the season, and they'll find a way to move him in the winter.

I think this is it for him in Chicago. He's either getting traded in the next 6 days, or they'll move him in the offseason. Some NL team will take his glove and think they can get his bat going. It may be something he wants himself by that point.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:30 AM) Damn, that's cold blooded. I'm just wishing retirement on him, not death! He's the one that said he wants to die in the booth...literally.

Sox eager to move Floyd, other notes
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:33 AM) What about Cliff Lee? Some rumblings the Rangers are in on him. Big game pitcher and with other contracts coming off the books, Sox could probably make Lee's deal work (albeit it would spell the end of Peavy). I'd have a hard time seeing Reinsdorf sign off on that one.

I still don't want Buehrle with that money owed him in the last two years. Love the guy, but no.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
It's a 65-game season now. I'm not overly optimistic about the Sox being the better team, but let's see what happens on the trade front over the next week.
