QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) I'm sure that I'm missing something, but wasn't Hawkins assigned to Bristol? Why wasn't he in the lineup last night? They didn't play last night. Doubleheader tonight.

Brewers switched up their rotation: Fri: Greinke vs Sale Sat: Wolf vs Humber Sun: Fiers vs Quintana I hope the word "salvage" isn't being used on Sunday.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) I really hope it doesnt get that bad. I hope it doesn't either. I'd love nothing more than the Sox to win the next 4 games at home, and then 4-3 in Minnesota and New York, and 4-2 when they get back home against Texas and Toronto. That would put the Sox at 47-38 at the break. That's a legit record for a contending team. But if they're under .500 at the break, and then go 4-6 on the roadtrip after the break, and are in 3rd place, screw it. It's over, and should be. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:36 PM) Yes it would, the only untouchable on the roster would be Sale. Dodgers would have to be very interested in Konerko and Peavy, as they have the money to spend. As much as I respect PK, and would like to see him finish his career in a Sox uniform, in the right deal that he approves, you gotta pull the trigger. -

Not much to say about this team. It was fun for 16 games. Win...lose...I don't care. Actually, them losing a bunch in the next few weeks would make July exciting trade-wise. -

Amazing. First place, and I still wouldn't be surprised if this team got gutted 5-6 weeks from now. They better get winning again, or this season will be ovah. -
Ravelo got HBP and came out. Fun All-Star Game.

Looking at the rotation now, maybe Axelrod starts the last game in Minnesota, and Sale goes in the first game in New York. Keep him on a 6-day schedule. In that case , his last start would be July 4th, and then the All-Star Game is 6 days later.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) I know it's only a few weeks, but I think he'd be on pace for 4 more starts before the break. It'd be hard for me to see how you could keep putting him out there if he gives up 8 runs a start. He'd wind up getting a start a series, so the Brewers, Yankees, Rangers, and Blue Jays would be his opponents. Mil - Sale, Humber, Quintana Min- Peavy, Floyd, Sale NY- Humber, Quintana, Peavy, Floyd Tex- Sale, Humber, Quintana Tor- Peavy, Floyd, Sale Wouldn't be surprised if Axelrod started the last game before the break, and give Sale an inning in the All-Star Game, and more rest before his first second half start. But really, if Humber sucks on Saturday, he should be out of the rotation and let Axelrod start. And if they decide to send Humber down and bring up Bruney or Heath, fine with me.

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 02:22 PM) Who is sending AJ flowers? His wife? is Barrett apologizing. If we win today, we win the BP cup right? People might go crazy tonite. The Sox won the BP cup when they swept the Cubs at Wrigley. Tie goes to last year's winner. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) Terry Doyle, Deunte Heath, Veal and Bruney say hello as well. There's more than numbers in judging prospects vs. suspects. Doyle says konnichiwa.

Axelrod is still listed as the Charlotte starter tonight. Doesn't necessarily mean he's not sitting in a Chicago hotel right now, but they haven't officially done anything yet.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:03 AM) My issue is this, who is to say there werent steroids? Hell, we know Jose Canseco was all into them in the 80s, so how many players in the 80s were messing with them? We dont know, thats my problem with all of this. The short answer is nobody was hitting 50, 60, 73 homers a year in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's. Ok--George Foster and Cecil Fielder, but you know what I mean. But yeah, we don't know if Rickey Henderson or Paul Molitor juiced at the end of their careers. It's certainly possible. It was institutional cheating. If Mantle and Mays played in the late 90's, they probably would have done it too. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) When you play the worst team in baseball at home, you should win. Not asking a lot. Especially with the Sox facing Wood, Wells, and Fiers the next few games, it's not a lot to ask for quality starts from Peavy, Floyd, and Sale the next three games with the offense scoring enough. The Sox need the next three, and then hope for the best against Greinke vs Humber. -

12-6 to the break. Do it, or blow this team up. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) It certainly stains his reputation, but I think he will get in. Maybe not first ballot, but he will get in It's going to take a long time, but I think they'll eventually have to radically change the voting process for the Hall. I think rational people know that players like Clemens and Bonds were greats of their era with or without steroids. While McGwire and Sosa accumulated their numbers mostly because of steroids. The question is, do players like Bonds and Clemens deserve to be given the highest honor even though MLB pretty much endorsed steroid use for more than a decade? -

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) Hawk sounds bored with this game, lol. He's probably thinking about the lost games in LA that if they won, you can live with sacrificing a game like this to give Peavy and Sale extra rest. -
When this week is over, it won't be a 162-game marathon anymore. It will be a 90-game sprint.
