  1. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) Just another reason why I never believe anything from ESPN. Sox have dropped to 3rd. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings
  2. My stupid trade idea... We get Danks back for 4-5 starts, proves he's healthy, and we trade him to Philadelphia with a couple good minor leaguers for Hamels and Polanco. They get cost certainty for 4 years with Danks and don't have to worry about over-paying Hamels in the off season. We get a rent-an-ace to go along with Sale and Peavy and don't have to sweat out Danks contract for 4 years. Plus Polanco would be a very good replacement at 3B and he's not getting paid too much. How bad is this?
  3. One positive...sweeping the Cubs a couple weeks ago. Sox are 4-2 in interleague, and no AL team will be better than that with 12 games remaining. But they have to go at least 7-5 the next two weeks. 11-7 in interleague would be just fine.
  4. Humber hasn't won a game at the Cell in a year. He's got to go. Sale, Peavy, Danks, Floyd, and Quintana seems pretty solid if Floyd gets it going. I think he'll run off a few good ones before the break. One thing is for sure...if Quintana pitches well Tuesday (and his next start if Danks stays on the DL), then he has to remain in the rotation. Even the ultra-loyal White Sox aren't stupid enough to demote Quintana if he keeps putting up quality starts.

  6. Total attendance for the 9-game homestand: 208,682...average 23,187
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) What else do KW and RV need to see to get rid of Stewart? It couldn't hurt to bring somebody else in. What do they owe Zach Stewart? Nothing. Doyle, Axelrod, Bruney...take your pick. Bring somebody up. If they suck, try somebody else.
  8. Humber can't win at home. It's time for a change.

Sounds like we'll know today or Monday where he's going.
  10. Holmberg is in High-A at age 20. The bottom line (if I can borrow a phrase from Frank Thomas) is that it was an awful trade given the situation the Sox were in at the time. Does that mean Holmberg and Hudson will haunt the Sox for the next decade? Maybe not. But for now, it doesn't look good. But if the Sox win the World Series this year, they can hit the reset button and not care about any move made from November 2005 to October 2012.
  11. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 07:47 AM) Is Hawkins' high school team still in the state playoffs? No. http://twitter.com/CHawkins10/status/211585024812777474

  13. If rotations hold, and Danks returns on the 17th, here is what our interleague play looks like: Houston-- Rodriguez vs Floyd Lyles vs Sale Harrell vs Humber St. Louis-- Quintana vs Lynn Peavy vs Wainwright Floyd vs Westbrook Dodgers-- Sale vs Kershaw Humber vs Billingsley Danks vs Capuano Cubs-- Garza vs Peavy Wood vs Floyd Samardzija vs Sale Brewers-- Gallardo vs Humber Greinke vs Danks Wolf vs Peavy 9-6 would be very good.
  14. AL Records going into interleague: Tex 33-25 Sox 32-25 Bal 32-25 TB 32-25 NY 31-25 Cle 30-26 Tor 30-27 Bos 29-28 LAA 29-29 A lot of parity, but you can't slump over the next 15 games.
  15. Large victory. I hope the Jays flight to Atlanta sucks too.
  16. I'll take a homer, but does Beckham ever hit a gap?

Castro must have Javy Vazquez Syndrome. Got to the 6th, and fell apart.
  18. Robin does know it's June, correct?
  19. Need a run here... edit: or 2!!
  20. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) do face Kershaw? Could be Sale vs Kershaw next Friday.
  21. Can't wait for these f***s to come back right before the break.

Sox could use a rubber armed reliever. Doyle deserves a shot.
