  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) Toronto hitters might break their backs swinging out of their shoes against him. Probably because they kick our asses every year, but the Sox just don't match up to the Blue Jays well. Peavy needs to be on.
  2. Please win this game. No bad stuff going into the off day.
  3. Might be Axelrod on Wednesday. edit: he's starting today though. We'll see if they scratch him.
  4. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) I 1/3 of the season in the books, and he's the Cy right now.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Did we get an attendance figure yet? 23,062

    6/3 games

If De Aza got hurt, I think they'd be tempted.
  7. Kittens lose. Complete game for Phil Hughes. Tigers 6-6 when Verlander starts.
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Gordon's parents may never leave. I finally caved and googled cheese straws the other day. Look tasty.
  9. De Aza has the flu. He's not available.
  10. If you're playing somebody out of position, obviously it's Dunn in LF, Viciedo at 3B, and PK stays at 1B.
  11. No Carlos Lee next weekend. DL. Brett Wallace up.
  12. Garfein tweeted Danks side session went well today, but may need a rehab start. I'm good with that. Quintana on Wednesday, please.
  13. Just noticed something weird....Viciedo only has 4 doubles. Since April 26, 10 homers and 2 doubles. Weird. You'd think he would have more gappers that didn't go over the wall. Not that I'm complaining. Just interesting.
  14. Cabrera homer with 2 out in the 8th. He's pretty good, isn't he? With he and Fielder being as good as they are, it really shows how bad the rest of the Tigers have been...or a lot of them.
  15. Charlotte- Doyle qualilty start, Johnson homer 14 http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...chraaa_gwiaaa_1 Birmingham- Castro good start http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...biraax_mobaax_1 Winston-Salem- Petricka great start http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...cmcafa_wswafa_1 Kannapolis- Erik Johnson won http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...lwdafx_kanafx_1
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Why is Danks an upgrade over Fukudome? The guy has a tough time making contact playing every day against weaker competition. I think he'd be hard-pressed to do anything playing as infrequently as Fukudome. Fukudome at least has done it before. Its best for Jordan and the Sox he not be called up to take Fukudome's place. If Fukudome were in AAA, he'd probably be hitting over .300 and the consensus would be to call him up. Fukudome is 35, and I just don't think he's doing any good sitting on the bench. Like I said, I think you can keep Danks involved in the game more as the season goes on. His splits have been very good this season other than striking out once a game. We'll see what happens.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) Fuko is a perfect backup outfielder. Why in the world would Sox bring up Danks to sit? I think at the price, Fukudome was a decent gamble and looked good on paper. What has he done in a Sox uniform? Nothing. Jordan Danks isn't projected to be a starter in the big leagues any longer. He's at that age (almost 26) where he's played enough AAA baseball and he could be a valuable bench piece. De Aza has been great, but giving him a rest once every 10 days during the hot months would be a good thing, and that's where Danks can help. He can also go in on defense for Viciedo (who isn't bad, but Danks is better).
  18. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) I am benching Gavin today in Fantasy because I don't trust him anymore until he gets on one of his runs. Therefore he is guaranteed to throw a complete game shutout. You're welcome. Floyd's best months are June and July. It's June.
