  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) I want to give our starters rest, especially Peavy/Sale. We need to be careful of these guys. Plus with Danks coming back from soreness, you also have to monitor him a bit more closely as well. I'd give them the rest after the break so they're both in the Detroit series, like 4th and 5th after the break. They could go Floyd-Humber-Danks-Peavy-Sale after the break. There just aren't a lot of off days after the break to skip guys, so they should look more at matchups.
  2. Another 1/3 season stat... When the Sox score 4 or more runs, they win 80% of the time. 7-3 when they score exactly 4 runs. (70%) 21-4 when they score more than 4 runs. (84%) So when they score their 5th run, there's an 84% chance they'll win. At least that's what has happened so far.
  3. Do you adjust the rotation to give Peavy one more start before the break, or just stay the course? Then it would be one more start for Humber, and then Peavy would likely pitch in the AS Game? Me? I want Peavy an extra start, with 2 games the last week before the break. vs Tor - Humber, Quintana, Peavy (6/7) vs Hou - Floyd, Sale, Humber off at StL - Peavy (6/12), Danks, Floyd at LA - Sale, Humber, Peavy (6/17) vs Cubs - Danks, Floyd, Sale off vs Mil - Peavy (6/22), Danks, Floyd at Min - Sale, Humber, Peavy (6/27) at NY - Danks, Floyd, Sale, Humber off vs Tex - Peavy (7/3), Danks, Floyd vs Tor - Sale, Humber, Peavy (7/8)

  5. Sox will face Kershaw and Capuano is LA. I'd just bench Dunn those two games. Not sure if they'll get Garcia in St. Louis.
  6. Stat of the Day: Through 1/3 of the season, the Sox score .5 runs per game more than the Tigers. They also give up .5 runs less per game than the Tigers. Sox RS 260 - RA 220 Det RS 233 - RA 247
  7. Maybe the Sox will take Stroman because they might need him in September.
  8. Twins are sitting pretty for that Buxton kid.

Is Trayce Thompson really this bad or is he trying to do something new at the plate that will eventually kick in and make him a better player?

Double and homer for Danks off Teheran.
  11. Indians lose too. 2.5 game lead!
  12. Three years of Gordon Beckham now in the books. Total- Games (436) - .248/.315/.388 Home (217) - .230/.306/.385 Away (219) - .264/.323/.392 I like the recent progress, but three years ago you wouldn't be able to convince me he'd be a .230 hitter at home the first 3 years of his career.

  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 04:18 PM) Missed the game today. Why was Kosuke pulled? Back spasms
  15. Average attendance this series: 22,810 I'm willing to bet next weekend against Houston (even with them being awful), will be at least 5K more per game.
  16. Sully and Gordon Jr. can't leave Chicago.
  17. CSN Postgame...Bill Melton didn't think Frank faced Randy Johnson. Frank Thomas Drinking Game...every time he says "Bottom Line", drink. Melton still calls him Chris Sales. What the f***.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) Toronto hitters might break their backs swinging out of their shoes against him. Probably because they kick our asses every year, but the Sox just don't match up to the Blue Jays well. Peavy needs to be on.
  19. Please win this game. No bad stuff going into the off day.
  20. Might be Axelrod on Wednesday. edit: he's starting today though. We'll see if they scratch him.
  21. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) I 1/3 of the season in the books, and he's the Cy right now.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Did we get an attendance figure yet? 23,062

If De Aza got hurt, I think they'd be tempted.
  24. Kittens lose. Complete game for Phil Hughes. Tigers 6-6 when Verlander starts.
  25. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Gordon's parents may never leave. I finally caved and googled cheese straws the other day. Look tasty.
