QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:25 PM) Should Ozuna have gotten that? Kind of sounded like it on the radio. didnt really look like it to me, but i wasnt watching that closely... maybe with a dive he would have had a chance

Go get 'em Danks! I believe that I heard someone on the pregame say that today is Danks birthday? All the more reason to throw a great game!

LET'S MAKE A LIST
Sent in my list, I'll be interested to see how this thing turns out. Personally, I tried to steer clear of putting more than one film from a single series in the list. I think the big winner of my list ended up being Bill Murray, quite a few movies with his touch were included.

Buehrle being skipped in rotation
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 05:07 PM) Sure, they wanted to break them up. But when a team is batting barely .200 against lefties, throw all you got out there! You can always change the order up again in a week or two with the days off or rained out games yet to come. Yeah, I'd be surprised if Buehrle and Danks are back to back in the order for very long. Who knows, it might only be for this one start.

Guillen fined for umpire 'vendetta' quote
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) That was going to be automatic. If players and managers were allowed to say whatever they feel about umpires without penalty, umpires safety would be in danger. There are a lot of sickos out there. Ozzie knew he would be fined. I think he said it so the league would put Cuzzi's crew on White Sox games as little as possible. Kinda on that topic, does anyone know exactly how Ump crews are assigned to games? Is there a set rotation or are they assigned as the season goes on? I've always been kinda curious about that and never asked anyone.

Buehrle being skipped in rotation
I like this move, not only does it give Mark a little extra rest... but also sets up some more favorable match ups for the pitching staff over the week or so.

Contreras vs. L. Hernandez
I guess the silver lining of tonight is that both the Tigers and KC lost. I know its far, far too early to care... but because of the wonderful Chicago weather... its all we've got tonight. (well, that and the Masters )

Contreras vs. L. Hernandez
QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 08:48 AM) Illegal satellite dishes if I recall. I was in Nicaragua with the Peace Corps (briefly, had to come home for medical reasons) and was surprised how easy it was to watch US sports (especially the MLB). Seemed like every bar down there had a satellite, I never asked about the legality of them but it wouldn't have surprised me one bit if they were 'pirate satellite users'. Im sure the case in Cuba is very similar. Pretty cool that this is the first Cuba vs Cuba game, I hope that Alexei gets into the game as well (although Im not so sure we'll see much of our bench since they all got in a couple of ABs last night).

Danks (0-0) vs. Baker (1-0): MAKE IT SIX!
QUOTE (Wedge @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) I'll be in CA all summer, so I thought about getting that. Is it $15 for the whole summer? Yep, $15 for the whole season. I did it a couple years back... No complaints. just go to the MLB website and click on "gameday audio" by any of the game scores to sign up.

Buehrle (0-0) vs. Verlander (0-0)- KEEP IT UP!!
With the camera angle I thought it was foul for sure.... It was a "nooooo, yes!" moment.

Buehrle (0-0) vs. Verlander (0-0)- KEEP IT UP!!
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 05:07 PM) it's pure idiotic to have Uribe in there over Quentin. Quentin should be LF, Swisher in CF, and Ramirez at 2B... Yeah, Im pretty surprised by this lineup. I do wonder if maybe the Sox don't want to give Quentin an every day starting job for a while b.c of his shoulder. I know he looks fully healed to all of us, maybe they are just siding with caution though. On another note, I wonder how short Uribe's leash is. To me, he really isn't looking like he turned any corners this offseason... if Alexei starts to do better with the time he is given I would love to end up seeing him and Ozuna splitting time at 2b/ backing up the left side of the IF which would allow Quentin to take over a starting role in LF.

The Best So Far
Gotta go with the Bullpen on this one. A good bullpen can help keep you in games when a SP struggles, or can shut the door when you have a lead. If our BP is as good as it looks right now we will be able to win a lot of ballgames.

Buehrle (0-0) vs. Verlander (0-0)- KEEP IT UP!!
Something tells me that after that first start, Buehrle will be ready to go! Im feeling good about our chances tomorrow.

So if we rattle off a win streak here...
In a perfect world I think Owens would replace Ramirez and then Alexei could get every day ABs at AAA until he is more prepared for the MLB (whether its here or in AAA I really think Alexei needs regular ABs). But we cant only carry one IF backup, so unless the Sox are going to send down Alexei and Anderson and then add Owens and another IFer, I dont see it working out that way. Personally, I think if we continue to win Owens will end up staying in AAA. But if we falter he will replace Anderson.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Didnt get to see today's game (was out taking advantage of the weather getting in my first round of golf for the year), but I am really, really pleased with the outcome. Love to see Floyd having a good start to the season! From the box score it looks like it was an exciting game.
