  1. Yeah, they just mentioned something about it on the Sox postgame. :fthecubs
  2. For the record, I never turned the tv off. I may not have believed we would comeback, but I never turned it off.
  3. The Bones

    WIN THIS BABY

ahem, you forgot the best one, Seinfeld!
  4. Uribe bobbles it or he probably would have gotten him.
  5. Hawk taking an indirect jab at Mariotti saying, "that one writer in town that slants everything."
  6. Welcome back and good luck Beastly. If you can hold up to your word, you'll be just fine.
  7. After today's game against Cleveland we play 4 games against Toronto to close out our home stand. Then we go on a road trip to play 3 against Baltimore and 3 more against the Jays again. Then we come back home to wrap it up with 3 more against the O's. Why must they schedule the same opponents back to back for two weeks straight? It gets really dull watching the Sox face these teams over and over with very little break. Can't they find a way to spread it out so we play them once early in the year and once later in the year to keep the matchups fresh? It can also make it very unfair if someone is injured or if a team is just not playing well at the time and could skew the team's records. This is just one example this year as it happens a few other times as well and really annoys me. I've noticed it in the past and I think it has become worse since MLB decided to go with an unbalanced schedule.
  8. Cotts came in with an inherited runner and got 3 outs. He was the only other reliever to fair well. Also, people need to relax and not get too down after a loss or too high after a win. The Sox are keeping games close and staying in them. I'd rather have them do this than come out and dominate one night and then not even show up the next. That can be really frustrating.
  9. how many games have we won in the last at bat already this year?
  10. Jon has taken the place of Judy these past two innings.
  11. c'mon Jonny your boys got ya the 4 run lead, don't give it right back
  12. I don't get WCIU down here. Were those homers monster shots, line shots, or just your average HR?
  13. Another sidenote - This is the team Harold Reynolds picked to finish 3rd place in the division, ahead of the Sox. :banghead :headshake
  14. No, this is the year we need to get the the playoffs and win, Wright or no Wright. We need to do whatever it takes to accomplish this, even if it means giving up on Wright before he truly gets a chance to prove himself. But, why wouldn't they like Kelly? Everyone likes Kelly. He's been one of the most effective relievers for the Sox since 2000, when he's healthy.
  15. Anyone see the brawl between the Phillies and Marlins. I only saw a clip of it on SC. Alex looked like he knew what he was doing out there. Pretty good brawl, but not quite as good as Sox-Tigers. :fyou Robert Fick Anyways, the Phillies are just mad that they've lost 18 of their last 20 games against the Marlins. Go Marlins (my NL team).
  16. A lot of good stories. I became a Sox fan the same way my dad did...my older brother was a Sox fan. My dad was about 10 in 1959 and his brother got him into the Sox. When I was just a youngun I claimed to be an A's fan, mainly because of McGwire and Canseco. Then my brother got me into the Sox in the early 90s and I've become the biggest Sox fan in my family.
  17. I admit that I didn't have any confidence in Scott as a starter coming into this year. He has really impressed me so far and I hope he keeps it up. I just hope when he has his first couple of bad outings this year, which are almost inevitable, people don't start jumping all over him and calling for his head. He's pitched well against the Yankees twice, granted they may not be at their strongest right now. That alone shows me that he has what it takes to get the job done. Going into Yankee Stadium's home opener could have been a disaster, but he kept us in the game and that's all we need him to do as our 4th starter.
  18. I can't believe everyone is forgetting "The Milkman" Herbert Perry. Or what about "Norton, you're the greatest." Greg Norton. Two of the best 3rd basemen to ever play for the Sox.
  19. and Uribe with another one. Keep it up Show.
