  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 02:50 PM) Had another nice day in the AFCON. Hit on Senegal DNB +120, Ghana/Senegal O2 (-125), Algeria ML +110 and Algeria/South Africa O2 +105 I love international soccer Do you just follow international soccer a ton or do you get information from somewhere?
  2. Good game. I felt like the game really turned when the Illini were up by 9 and brought egwu back in the game. Egwu was pretty bad today. It just seemed like a bad matchup for him.
  3. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) I figured we've never really had any betting threads on this forum where we can discuss spreads etc. I've been leaning colts +7 and Seattle -7.5 all week, but decided to tease them to Seattle -2/NE -1. What is everyone else doing? I did the same exact thing as you.
  4. The Illini are so much worse when Starks is in the game.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 11, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) Well mine was a question for you. I just didn't see anywhere Wilson being compared to Luck. It has been discussed in the past.
  6. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 11, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) What is the point of this post? Just an opinion I have. What's the point of yours?
  7. I hope the whole Luck vs Wilson argument is pretty much dead at this point. Luck is an absolute stud. Wilson is a very good player and a very good game manager, but he isn't as good as Luck.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 8, 2015 -> 05:58 AM) Illinois started Tate and Cosby and beat the #11 team? Yikes. That's an awful loss for Maryland and a resume builder for Illinois. Malcolm Hill will be a consistent beast by the time he's a senior. Tate should probably start for a while. He played well yesterday. The Maryland coach even acknowledged it. Turgeon: They made the switch at point guard and Tate was terrific.
  9. They should just cut Cosby. Just get him off the team.
  10. Egwu was a monster on defense today. By far the best I've seen him play all year.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) Illinois choking a bit here. Gotta settle down Cosby and Starks doing everything they can to let Maryland back into the game.
  12. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) Particularly with Rice out. One of Cosby or Nunn absolutely must get going or else that's going to be a blowout. Annnnnd Illinois is now -1. Somebody must know something because that's a ton of line movement on, seemingly, the wrong side. It has to be some sort of trap.
  13. Maryland is only - 2 against Illinois tonight. I know it's hard to win on the road in the B1G, but that seems crazy.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 7, 2015 -> 12:17 AM) Being on a better team makes everyone look a bit better. I personally think Gasol's actual talent, in comparison to previous years, is more or less the same. He's just in a better environment where he's fit to succeed. He's got a DPOY winner playing next to him. He's now the second option as opposed to the go-to-guy like he was last year. And the team's winning. Nobody has motivation to play on a crappy team, especially someone nearing their mid-30s. I appreciate what Gasol's been doing for this team, he's way better than what Boozer's been the past 3 years and that's all I could have asked for from him. I don't think anyone thinks his talent level has gone up any. You hit the nail on the head with "Nobody has motivation to play on a crappy team, someone nearing their mid-30s". This is why he looks considerably better this year than he has the last few in LA even though his raw statistics were close last year. Also, being on a better team definitely doesn't make everyone look a bit better. I can think of more players that looked worse statistically after joining better teams and those guys weren't 34 years old. Bosh, Boozer, and Love are three really easy examples. Evan Turner last year if you want to even look at fringe guys.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 02:09 PM) He really isn't that different though. D'antoni did him no favors, but the fact he's shooting about the same percentage as last year tells you he's not much better. His minutes-load, his rebounding, and his blocked shots are definitely better this year, which are big contributions to the team. However, his per 36 shooting numbers are extremely similar (4.9 FTA/36 for both years, 1.7 FGA less than last, but even 14.8 FGA per game when looking at his overall numbers) and he's converting at a similar rate outside of FTs (48% from the field both years, FT% is up almost 10%, which explains his slightly better TS%). Putting up numbers on a bad team isn't the same thing as putting up numbers on a good team. It's usually difficult to go from one situation to another and put up the same raw numbers while playing better defense. I think most people would say that he has been much better this year than he was in the last two with the Lakers, even though the numbers are similar.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) Yep, broke his hand in practice. Out several weeks. Whelp, officially a lost season. Time to find out what a Hill/Nunn led team can do. Don't forget about Cosby. *Gag*
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 6, 2015 -> 08:51 AM) Literally no info here, but the Loyalty tweet means something is going on: http://www.illinoisloyalty.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=22092 Sounds like Rayvonte Rice is going to be out 4-6 weeks. Awesome.
  18. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) I'll never rip on the bulls front office again. Ever, the majority of this team was drafted by them. You cant blame them for free agents spurning them. At this point the Bulls should be grateful that Melo spurned them.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 5, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) Demarco Murray is better than Jordy Nelson + Eddie Lacy. lol, alrighty then I think he meant Murray and Bryant, which would be correct.
  20. He never even took an official to Illinois. It's definitely UK or KU.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) It wasn't this flat. He wasn't a guy who shot it was a ton of arc but his shot is noticeably flatter this year. He shot 43% from the floor and 40% from 3 in the Big East (when the Big East was still really good) on a pretty high volume of shots and now he can't make uncontested layups and its shocking when he makes a 3. It is insane how bad he's been. Yeah, I looked at box scores for him in his last season there and he had big games against final four teams like Louisville and Syracuse. Those teams had really, really good defensive backcourts too. That's why I expected so much from him and didn't think the Abrams loss would be as big. He played some point at seton against those Big East teams and held his own. Boy was I wrong.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) So taking out the Kennesaw State game I believe Cosby is 14 for his last 74. I mean you have to try to suck that bad. I never watched him play at Seton Hall, but I can't believe his jumper could have been this flat when he was there. I just can't imagine him shooting 40% from 3 with this same arc.
  23. I think if OSU would have played m2m all game they could have won by 30+. Starks and Tate can't do anything against that type of length and athleticism. I guess they still might win by 30+
  24. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 04:11 PM) Also, Egwu may be the worst pick and roll defender I've ever seen. He doesn't understand how to do it whatsoever. He's just going to defend the guard no matter what. He is one of the dumbest players I've ever seen. My favorite was earlier in the game when he decided to come double Thompson and he just tackled him.
  25. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 3, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) Just consistently awful on defense. No communication at all. Tate and Starks are both f***ing awful. The Illini went from being one of the best defensive teams last year down the stretch to just awful this year. The only difference in the starting 5? PG.
