  1. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 03:07 PM) You're right, they aren't. I hope this is incorrect. Still haven't closed on any of the top 20 guys that are being recruited though.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) Sun-Times Sports ‏@suntimes_sports 3h3 hours ago ICYMI: Aaron Rodgers says #Illinois was his first college choice. Didn't get offer from Ron Turner. Oops. http://sun-tim.es/1z8olHV Turner also rescinded a scholarship that Jay Cutler accepted. Turner wasn't a very good coach.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) I looked at the schedule and saw anywhere from 17-14 to 19-12. Maybe they're better than that, but it was just a general supposition due to the opponents on the schedule. If Vegas has wins totals for college bball, I pray to God they're in that range.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 07:45 AM) You're that confident? Ok... Yes. They went 6-4 in B1G play once Hill and Nunn were put in the lineup including wins @ Minnesota, @MSU, and @ Iowa. That team had a true freshman Tate as the only backup PG and very, very little depth overall. Easily a tournament team.
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 15, 2014 -> 01:32 AM) Agreed. 3rd thing in is about Illinois: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball...ion-this-season Things would have to go horribly wrong for the Illini to not make the tournament.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 13, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) Lemarr Houston, on the other hand... 6 tackles, 0 sacks. Young has 24 tackles. I'd at least expect Houston to make a contribution against the run game since that's what he's best at, but he's not even doing that well. Houston has 13 hurries and 8 QB hits. He actually grades out better than Young does in terms of pass rush on pro football focus. Young has 6 hurries and 1 QB hit outside of his sacks.
  7. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) Burfict was a discipline risk (anger issues, I believe) who ran a 5.1/40. Yup, he also placed some blame on coaches during the interview process. That's a big no-no. I was praying the Bears would take him in the 7th. His talent on-field was so apparent at ASU.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 08:26 PM) http://twitter.com/aroux94 Sooooo why not commit? Yeah, I don't buy this. I think he realizes that most Illini fans have been pretty much giving up on him and he wants to add excitement to the recruitment again. I'm going to expect OSU until he does otherwise. E: I have a feeling his interview is going to go something like this: "Illinois was a great school and recruited me really hard. Their fans were crazy. They were the leader for the while, but Armon committing to Ok St last week kind of tipped the balances. The opportunity to play with him and Jawun was too much to pass up". Sigh..
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) Are you guys kidding me???? Why the f*** is he throwing into triple coverage? Jesus. It was clearly a bad decision. It doesn't take away from the fact that it was PI though. Well, Panthers fumble. Ball don't lie.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) That was pass interference. Uh, yeah
  11. Melvin Gordon has 260 yards rushing. Wisconsin has 7 points. I don't think I've ever seen something like that before.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) Billed as biggest game in Maryland history, students completely gone before end of third. Probably because everyone knows it's clearly not the biggest game in Maryland history. Ridiculous.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) Purdue averages 136 rushing yards a game. They had about 147 in the first half. Is that bad? They just ran a 62 yard QB draw. Don't see that every day.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 09:28 PM) When can we schedule an Iowa State/Illinois home and home? It looks like they'll get a chance to play on a neutral court next year. Both are in the Emerald City Classic and the other headlining schools are VA Tech and UAB. I assume ISU and Illinois will both be favorites to make the finals.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) They kept talking about how much weight he lost in the offseason and looked quicker. What, he couldn't lose weight in Chicago the last two years? It's not like the food in Wisconsin is any healthier. He plays a different position in GB
  16. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) That will be 4 more than he has now. Yes, that's usually how addition works.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 08:02 AM) Sure there's no certainty until recruits sign, but both have been considered locks or Illinois' to lose down the stretch here. It's hard to consider any prospect a lock before they ever step foot on campus. We were favorites for both, yes, but after neither committed on or shortly after their visit that changes things. People think the distance was a factor with Evans and his mother (I'm sure it didn't help that there was a weather delay and their plane was rerouted to Indy). Evans going to OK ST only hurts us with Thomas, who named Illinois his leader last week, because he's pretty close with both Gilder and Evans. It's easy to have a defeatist's attitude concerning Thomas, but most people feel it's between Illinois and Ok st. Luckily for us, he didn't commit after his visit with OK St and instead chose to visit Illinois which he then named his leader. I don't think Illinois gets him in the end because of his friendship with Gilder and Evans, but it's not over yet.
  18. QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 07:22 AM) I had thought I had read a few weeks ago that Thomas was a lock, or as close to as possible? It looked like he was heavily leaning Illinois, but there is almost never a lock when it comes to recruiting. Jalen Coleman was an ND "lock" for a while and look how that turned out.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 05:41 AM) LoVett offered by Kansas already. This is the kid who wants to stay in Illinois. Nothing from Groce yet. Considering Evans is deciding tomorrow I think it's likely we'll learn more about whether or not Groce wants LoVett. Assuming Evans picks Ok St, obviously.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 03:51 PM) Legit buzz, as in random internet poster posing as a person with sources who is never discredited when he's wrong about his predictions? Or legit, legit buzz? Legit, legit. Insider board
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 10:06 PM) Guy on Illinois Loyalty boards is saying that ET is going to commit to Illinois on Monday. Put it at 80% There's some legit buzz that Thomas might commit tomorrow. Let's hope it happens.
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 10:06 PM) Guy on Illinois Loyalty boards is saying that ET is going to commit to Illinois on Monday. Put it at 80% That guy isn't credible at all. I like when he posts based on entertainment value.
  23. Clayton said on ESPN radio earlier that he wouldn't be surprised if Harbaugh ends up at Michigan because he might want a Carroll type deal (executive VP of football operations) to stay in the NFL. I think a team would give him that deal, though. I highly doubt he takes the Michigan job, but it is interesting to think about and would certainly help the B1G.
