QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) That policy is ancient history now. Maybe, but I think the Shark FA deal will dwarf the Danks and Buehrle contracts, and I believe those are the only two big ones the Sox have recently signed. -

You can't blame the marketing department for the Sox ticket woes, they do everything they can to entice fans to attend. Another great idea.

That DePaul hire, wow. Zero inspiration, especially with the new arena coming The Texas Job might be one of the best jobs in the country. So many resources, so little pressure since it's not football. -
What a deal. The attendance may suck, but it's not for lack of effort

Well that sucked. Crawford does deserve some blame, but the defense was s*** in the 1st. The whole game was just sloppy. And now Minnesota is only one point behind. It's been ugly for a while, if it wasn't for Corey standing on his head a few times in the past month, they'd easily be in 4th or 5th place. They seem primed for a 1st round exit unless something changes. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Hasn't he had several injuries? He was like a top 20 prospect 4 or 5 years ago. I believe he has had multiple Tommy John surgeries.

What? It has everything to do with Boras and how soon the extra zeros on his commission check increase.

Elite Eight Memories: The Heart-Stopping 2005 Arizona-Illinois Showdown, 10 Years Later 10 years ago, sigh. After the 2005 sports year, I never thought the Illini and White Sox would combine for 4 postseason wins in the following 10 years. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 02:21 PM) I suspect we will see on the east coast after his initial stint with the Sox. Counting the Dodgers and Angels out already?

Heading to Vegas in the morning for two nights, then spending a week near Palm Springs. Temps in the 90s every day. Remember kids, if you do decide to get married, make sure your in-laws live somewhere nice & warm.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 11:27 AM) As someone who is coming from 180 miles away and doesn't know the city well, would it be wise for me to purchase parking in advance? I've been to plenty of games but usually not ones that will be as packed as this. If I don't pay for a pass in advance how early would be recommended to arrive to ensure parking in the Sox lots? I remember when Frank Thomas had his number retired we ended up having to park a long ways from the stadium and take a shuttle. I'd rather not have to do that again. Years ago I drove to a game with the Yankees in town and the same thing happened to me. We had to park east of IIT, take a bus, and probably got to the park by the 4th inning or so. Never driving to a sold out game again. Luckily, the attendance problems prevent this from being a constant problem.

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 11:44 AM) That quote actually makes me think it's more likely he stays here. I'd be shocked if the White Sox outbid everyone else like the Cubs and Nationals with the other two guys. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 12:22 AM) I haven't liked this ND team all year but this is the type of matchup that can give UK trouble. ND is going to score points, let's just see if they can somehow stop Kentucky. This can be fun. I think Notre Dame's best bet is to hold the ball for 30+ seconds on each possession, then shoot a 3. The line is Kentucky -11.5, wow.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) I also think ND is one of those teams that is actually getting better. And they almost lost their first two tournament games. But like I said earlier, if they are on, they can beat anybody, just cab they hit their threes against the Kentucky D

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) I agree, the BIG's best team was a bit better than the ACC's 5th best team. But the B1G's 3rd best team beat the ACC'S best team
