  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 16, 2015 -> 08:57 AM) Why are games in the East and South region being played in Seattle? In the first two rounds, the top 4 seeds all get to play as close to home as possible no matter what region they are in. Then on the second weekend, the "West" or "East" geography comes into play with the location.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) So Vegas doesn't think that KU-NMSU is going to be a blow out and Kenpom has NMSU as a top 90 team, that could be a game to keep an eye on. Self is due to lose to a 15.
  3. Awesome recap of all the police calls on Clark St. on Saturday http://www.cwbchicago.com/2015/03/yuck-of-...spawns.html?m=1
  4. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) Why doesn't Illinois have a home game?. This is what the State Farm Center looks like now, major renovation started immediately after the final conference game. http://www.fightingillini.com/statefarmcenter/photos.html
  5. Sorry Boise, you get to play a true road game.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 01:38 PM) Yes he's played. He plays the same amount as everyone else on the team. Calipari treats his roster like a rec league of 10 year olds and they are still undefeated.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 11:29 AM) IU is out. ESPN has them first team out, but FOX sports has them as a 10 seed, so who knows. Either way they could use a SMU win.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) Oliver Purnell is resigning at Depaul. Any Depaul people on the board? Howlund has been rumored in the past. Someone like Rod Strickland do anything to move the meter? I think DePaul has the best chance of any of the Illinois schools to build a program with Chicago kids staying. New arena will help but they need a coach. Any ideas? The arena might be more important than the coach. Can't be easy to recruit 20 miles from campus with a big arena 20 percent full with zero students .
  9. Is Hoiberg the worst 1st half coach in America or the best 2nd half coach?
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 12:30 PM) Yeah, IU fans definitely want to see Auburn, Temple, Rhode Island, UConn and Wyoming all lose today. UConn wins, gotta beat SMU tomorrow to steal a bid. They have quite the advantage with the tournament in Hartford. It seems like a home game, the majority of the conference schools are like a thousand miles away.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) If he's not a perennial all-star for them, it will be surprising. As a Cubs hater, just have to keep hoping a majority of these guys bust like Patterson and Pie. In 3 full seasons with Mike Trout, the Angels have won exactly zero playoff games
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) Definitely should be rooting against Alford now. And Bruce Pearl tomorrow (OK, maybe they have no chance ) Wyoming and UCONN are two legit potential bid sealers though
  13. I could watch OU and ISU play all day, fun basketball
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) Finally selling our condo in the city, and it's a pretty unusual deal. We had the middle unit in a semi-typical three-unit Bucktown single-lot building (a duplex down, and two single-floor units). Had been renting out our unit for a few years, but current lease ended at the end of Feb and we wanted to sell now. Investor made us an offer on our place, but wanted to buy the whole building, so he wrote us a conditional offer: $1000 down in exchange for a two week negotiating window with the other units, and we keep the thousand if he doesn't close the deal. I contacted the other two units. The duplex down had been trying to sell on and off, so she got an offer and took it too, with a closing target in June when her current renters are out. The third floor unit was owner-occupied, and hadn't said anything about wanting to sell, but they ended up deciding to go for it too, with a lease-back for six months while they look for a house (turns out they'd been debating it anyway). Inspections are underway now, we get first close, hopefully early April. Bonus: its a cash offer, so commission is sale-side only, we save probably $8000 in commission costs. Hope this all works! That's awesome, good luck. And ask them if they want to invest in a 19-unit building in Old Irving Park too!
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 11:50 AM) And they should have some stability at QB. I don't think Foles is some great QB, but he's better than what they have had in a long time (given that Bradford could never stay on the field). They better hope they get some help at QB with Foles, they are wasting a talented defense. It does you no good to pull off the "trade of the century" if your QB play keeps you from the playoffs.
  16. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 11:58 AM) Saints are going to be awful next year. What a mess that team has become. Talk about salary cap hell. I still can't believe they blew a free division title last year by losing 5 straight games in the Superdome after crushing the Packers there. Under Sean Payton they had become almost unbeatable at home.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) Peppers and Allen are two seperate issues though. IIRC if the Bears kept Peppers, his cap hit last season was something ridiculous like 24 million, the Bears had to get out from under that. It sucks that Allen fell off the cliff, but they still saved money by getting rid of Peppers And I doubt Peppers would have played that much better than Allen in the Bears system. He succeeded in GB because he slimmed down for the OLB spot in the 3-4.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 08:13 AM) I didn't get to watch most of it, was it really that heavily an ISU crowd? From what I saw, yeah. They were loud, they were standing up and cheering. The majority of the crowd seemed to be a split between ISU fans up on their feet and KU fans sitting and enjoying the game. Could make for a great atmosphere if they both make it to Saturday.
  19. Rick Barnes gonna Rick Barnes. The crowd was also a big help for ISU.
  20. QUOTE (gatnom @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 02:38 PM) Illinois is a golf school. I wasn't aware it stopped being a tennis school
  21. QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) Murray to the Eagles. Makes the McCoy trade look a lot better now. Both Murray and Alonso are making less combined than McCoy. It would all be great, if they didn't increase their QB salary by $10 million without actually upgrading the talent at the position.
