  1. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) You misinterpreted my comment. In Alexei's situation, people have made that comment because his contract will expire when Sox are ready to compete. In Cutler's situation, I am saying I don't think Cutler is good enough to lead us to a another playoff berth, not with Rodgers and Stafford in their prime, and for reasons I mentioned earlier on his inability to perform in pressure. What's the alternative for Cutler? A rookie QB, a free agent QB, hell, even give me Jimmy Clausen and $18 million where I can spend on 2-3 key defensive players. With Cutler absorbing that much cap space, it's hard to find an identity for this team. Are they an offensive minded team? Last year proved not to be the case. Are they a good defensive team that relies on the run? Could be, but it's hard to rebuild a defense when you have that much money tied up on a below league average QB. That team is automatically worse than if you keep Cutler on his current contract. As bad as everyone thinks Cutler can be, you can do so much worse in the QB department.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 10, 2015 -> 06:44 AM) Don't worry, it gets more tiring Took our daughter to the library yesterday, in the toddler section there was a guy sitting on the couch straight passed out and snoring. At first it was a bit creepy because there weren't any kids around him so I didn't know if he was a Dad or just a passed out bum. Finally his kids came and woke him up while his phone alarm was going up.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 12:32 PM) I kept seeing him in the Top 5 right after the season ended. I saw a NFL Network mock draft this weekend with the Bears drafting Ray.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) Nate Jones is so far out of sight out of mind for me, the only time I really remember the guy is when i see his bad car commercial Yeah, and it's not just Tommy John he is recovering from, back injuries seem to always linger.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 11:20 AM) That word is going to define this generation of morons. Every week there is a death attributed to some idiot taking a selfie at the edge of a cliff or near train tracks.
  6. Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider · 23m 23 minutes ago Pernell McPhee to Chicago Bears on five-year, $40 million deal, nearly $16 million guaranteed: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/...0309-story.html … Pernell McPhee emerged as top under-the-radar pass rusher with 7.5 sacks behind Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil, played half the snaps Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL · 37m 37 minutes ago Re McPhee: was rated the 2nd best OLB behind J. Houston last year via @pff & can be effective at either OLB or 5-tech. He's 280. #Bears
  7. According to CBS Sports, the Raiders gave Rodney Hudson 5 years, $44.5 million. I honestly have no idea who that is, which probably suits the Raiders.
  8. The #1 free agent on the market got $60 million guaranteed. The White Sox gave $46 million to a relief pitcher. Tell your kids to stick with baseball.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 01:47 AM) So a Houston Texans radio host is saying SF is talking about Kaepernick with the Bears and Eagles. The guy has a reputable history. I'd rather stick with Cutler
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 7, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) Teravainen was on second line and PP unit as well. Wonder if someone in the higher ups talked to Q about that. Bickell to be a healthy scratch tonight. Never pay a player fur one good month.
  11. You can have a fun weekend in Cleveland, but living there seems very depressing. Since we were kid less for the weekend, chose sleeping in and the casino over the Rock and Roll HOF
  12. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Mar 8, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) I don't know why there is so much debate about this. He's a rental player. He has made no bones about exercising his union rights in regards to free agency. And Hahn knows this. Worst case scenario is the sox get draft pick compensation for him. There is no reason to get worked up over this. Yup.
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 11:11 AM) God Mayweather is such a tool. He really is an awful human being, but Las Vegas makes so much money off him, nobody cares. Even the NFL would suspend him.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 7, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) I have no hate for conte. For his sake I wish he'd retire. Hate is probably too strong of a word, but I don't remember a player that bad getting so much playing time. Agreed that he needs to retire just for his own health.
  15. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 7, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) Randall Cobb back to the Packers. 4 years 40 million 17 guaranteed. That sucks, I was hoping the Raider money would convince him to move.
  16. So if Illinois beats Michigan, they would seem to have a "play-in" game. I imagine beating Wisconsin would get them in the tourney.
  17. The Tommy John Express keeps chugging along, next likely passenger is Yu Darvish. Quite the injury streak fir the Rangers.
  18. Joe Lunardi's hair piece just looks f***ing ridiculous.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 7, 2015 -> 11:15 AM) Bears cut Conte He's gotta be up there for most hated Bears of all time. He sucked!
  20. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 16m16 minutes ago More moves in addition to Brandon Marshall for Chicago: QB Jimmy Clausen is re-signing with the Bears, per source.
  21. Good for Marshall, it will be a very short trip to his Inside the NFL tapings every week
  22. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 6m6 minutes ago Trading WR Brandon Marshall creates $7.7 million cash savings for #Bears and frees $3.95 million in salary cap room.
  23. It's funny how it plays out the same way everywhere Marshall goes. Still think it was a good move to acquire him, but it is time to say goodbye.
  24. QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 08:41 AM) I know it's pretty great. Has there ever even been one of these that turned out to be accurate? I vaguely remember something about when Chizik left Iowa State for Auburn, but I can't remember if it was spectacularly right or spectacularly wrong. When the Florida AD flew out to Fort Collins to hire the new football coach a few months ago, they were all over that, following his flight online. I don't know if the meeting was prior knowledge or not though
