  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 11:51 PM) Better tackling form would solve a lot as opposed to the "Drill a guy as hard as you can" And it sounds crazy, but I'd add a 'concussion limit' to players. Like, 2 concussions, you're done for the season. Something like 5 total (and that's setting it high) and you're done. Period. That rule will just lead to players lying about their concussions to stay in the game.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 10:12 PM) You guys see what Bargnani did today? The Knicks are just too precious. Even a junior high kid wouldn't shoot that. Unbelievable.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) Thought it was Saltalamacchias Jarrod Jeffries?
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) The league needs to investigate the Seahawks. If this were MLB, every reporter would be running around screaming about the integrity of the game.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) Mike North is doing a morning show for Fox now http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/...lineup-released
  6. QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 07:02 PM) I want a catcher for the future, not just for this year. I think Lucroy is the best fit. Great contract, great power and avg, good for the next 3-5 years. What if we give them: Dunn (pay half his salary so $7 million sent) Carlos Sanchez 3B Prospect (Depth now with Davidson) Trayce Thompson OF Prospect (Depth now with Eaton) Tyler Flowers (replacement catcher) Jeff Keppinger (pay half his salary for next 2 years so $4 million sent) All for Lucroy. We eat some money but save some money, have a top 8 player at an important position, and clear some at bats for young developing players in the big leagues as well as upper minors. Could Milwaukee say no to this deal? They have nothing going on and this gives them a lot for now and later, as well as some trade chips in Dunn and Keppinger who could get them more prospects. They need a total rebuild there in Brewtown. That gives Milwaukee very little to nothing. If Dunn & Kepp could get prospects, they probably would have been traded already by the Sox. Flowers appears to suck and the other two Sox prospects aren't exactly top on anyone's lists. Lucroy is signed for $17 million over the next 4 seasons. The Brewers should be asking for a king's ransom for him.
  7. Cubs sign Jose Veras to close. The rebuild is almost complete!
  8. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) Stop it. The guy has played in 10 pro games, and has the best team in the NHL in front of him every night. He's been good, and over the last 2-3 games has seemed to get more comfortable in net, but he's also been incredibly wild in net, consistently losing his stick in traffic, diving and playing rather erratic. I like him, and think he has a future with this team, but 10 games doesn't make Crawford a problem. That's part of the point IMO. When the rest of the roster is that good, it seems crazy to spend that much cap space on a goalie. (As long as you don't throw a drunk 40-year old Russian out there) And speaking of rookie goalies, Martin Jones has 6 career starts, 6 wins, 3 shutouts, 0.81 GAA.
  9. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 11:48 AM) Carmen & Jurko mentioned it. Mac had coffee with Adam Delavit? - the PD. Carmen even sang "reunited" while they were talking about it. I'm guessing they'd eventually move him into Carmen's seat, though. Maybe waddle goes to more national stuff with the network and Carmen moves back to shows with Silvy? It's so ridiculous how these radio stations just keeping recycling the same old talent. Danny Mac, Eddie & Jobo, why do these people keep getting new jobs?
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 10:32 AM) Did they do it with a clever picture of them and a bun in the oven, or perhaps a dog with a tshirt that says future big brother? Because I throw up on those. What about Torrey Smith's announcement?
  11. Sebastian Valle? Sounds like an actor, not a baseball player.
  12. So if the Lions lose, Packers win, and Cowboys win, Sunday night would be relatively meaningless for both teams. (other than the 3/4 seed battle) That would be comical to see two teams play backups in a night game that was flexed.
  13. Do rugby leagues have similar concussion issues? I always wonder how injuries compare in that sport, since they are somewhat similar. Are they even serious about concussions yet? I know in the English Premier League (yes, soccer), guys get diagnosed and still return in the same game, so maybe not yet.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 09:18 AM) They were surprised he took that much of a pay cut to play one more year. And we all should enjoy it, this is Paulie's farewell tour. It's hard to enjoy if he keeps hitting the way he has. I don't want to remember him for the pop up followed by slamming the bat in the ground.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 08:51 PM) As long as the kids are named first, I'm ok with it. That's how ours is. Dog is listed last and he only made a picture on the back. My wife has had him for almost 12 years, so it basically does feel like he is family. I don't think it will make people assume that we perceive our 1 year old daughter like a pet or vice versa. Plus, the poor pooch fell down the stairs again Sunday. Getting more and more worried that he won't be around for next year's Christmas card.
  16. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 12:51 AM) Did you guys ever get to listen to Jason Goff much when he was at The Score? He's been in Atlanta for over a year now. I don't always like what he has to say, but he's my favorite local guy for sure. His show is always entertaining. He was the producer on B &B forever, but more and more they would let him engage in the show, I did enjoy what he added. Probably the best young voice on the Score, I'm sure that's why ATL scooped him up.
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 12:18 AM) I hate that f***. Agreed. Although I wonder if I would like his clown act in a Sox jersey.
  18. Brewers are not in win now mode, only way obtain Lucroy is by giving up young talent. Personally, I am down with giving Phegley a year to prove he doesn't suck. If he still does, no harm, back to the drawing board next year.
  19. QUOTE (Greyone @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 04:41 PM) I think Alshon is very shy, or quiet. They had one of the female reporters on CSN talk to him, and she mentioned that she was happy he opened up to her, because he is a quiet guy in the locker room, or something along those lines. Which is not common with receivers.
  20. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) I doubt you'll see the All Pro version of Rodgers coming off an injury and weeks of inaction. He'll be rusty and trying to get up to real NFL game speed. Seeing Chris Conte & Minor Wrong 20 yards in front of you makes it much easier to shake off the rust.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) And if the cowboys win earlier in the day, it's meaningless for Philly. So we know what to root for... Although if they care about the #3 or #4 seed, then it's not meaningless.
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 01:45 PM) Aaron Rodgers still not cleared to play according to ESPN. Was he expected to be back this week? There was never an official return date, just a whole bunch of guesstimating. Rodgers says he is ready to go, but just needs to be medically cleared.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) Except the Eagles won't be stupid enough to stop running the ball. LeSean McCoy had 8 carries last week.
