    QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) Vestigial tail removal is his real talent. What the heck is that?

    How many of your co-workers get "you are my favorite teacher" cards from the same students?
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 01:01 PM) He got 120 intentional walks that season. LMAO, that is just ridiculous Selig ordered those intentional walks to throw people off so they wouldn't catch on. Bonds was such a likable figure, he alone brought baseball back.
  4. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) Baines was probably the best clutch hitter the Sox ever had... Good for him. He still was only the Sox for 10 years and is not a HOF. Stay off my wall.
  5. Translation: "I'm not ready to retire, but I suck too much to play in MLB anymore"
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) Corey Crawford has become the poster boy of the slobbering, mindless new Blackhawks fan in my mind. "YEAH CROW IS GREAT WE KEPT CROW WOOO GO HAWKS" yells dude who's wearing a matching $300 sweater as his fat f*** wife who are "obsessed with the Blackhawks". Blackhawks fans have become worse than f***ing Cubs fans for the most part. And none of those slobbering, mindless fans understand what WAIT FOR THE WHISTLE means. It keeps getting worse and worse.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 10:30 AM) You live through the Frank Thomas era, and never heard of Charley Lau? Nope, at least I don't remember hearing about him. I was young when Frank first showed up, so I don't know if I really paid attention to that kinda stuff. Definitely remember hearing about Hriniak though.

  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) Mac comes back at noon today to explain his absence Depression, rehab, or both?

  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) Current and eventual...14 numbers. Seems excessive. 2- Nellie Fox 3- Harold Baines 4- Luke Appling 6- Charley Lau 9- Minnie Minoso 11- Luis Aparicio 13- Ozzie Guillen 14- Paul Konerko 16- Ted Lyons 19- Billy Pierce 35- Frank Thomas 42- Robinson 56- Mark Buehrle 72- Carlton Fisk I would delete Baines & Guillen from that list. And I've never heard of Charley Lau.
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 08:17 AM) At home, they probably are. If this game was in Chicago I would pick the Bears. Which is funny because a month ago they were on a 10-game home losing streak.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 07:40 AM) Ginger Zee is f***ing hot. The end how again did Rongey score that, no matter how short lived it was
  14. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 01:27 AM) You guys want to hear a stupid stat? In 2004, Barry Bonds had a 37.6% walk rate. That was more than the #2 and #3 most walked players COMBINED. Watching Bonds at his juiced up prime was an absolute treat. It's amazing he hit as many homers as he did considering how few good pitches he would see.
  15. Kent Simpson to Rockford. Hanna LaBarbera called up to the big city.
  16. You might wanna review your lease before you tell your landlord everything. There could be something in there that allows him to evict you, specifically in regards to subletting.
  17. I think your best option is to contact a lawyer. It may cost you a couple hundred bucks, but it's best to get a definitive legal answer. If you tell them the story and show them a copy of your apartment lease and sublet agreement, they will clearly know what your legal rights are in regards to his stuff.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) I think Theo is going to fail with the Cubs, even if their system is so good right now. I can't get over how the #1 priority has become maximizing ballpark revenue over improving the ballclub. I realize how important revenue is, but these are the Chicago Cubs not the Tampa Rays. People come to the park even with bad teams. It's a very popular franchise in the 3rd largest city. They can support a high payroll easily. Maybe Ricketts is in bad financial shape since buying the team?
  19. Is that a good thing considering how awful the defense was last season?
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 07:44 AM) You da man Steve!
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 11:40 PM) Consider where Salty decided to play though. He's from South Florida. I feel like some posters just think if we offered 3/24 instead of 3/21 then we would get him. I really doubt that that is the case. He better not get too comfortable being back home. Odds are he gets traded in the next year.
