QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) Well, the SEC title game is kind of the top of the tree right now. It wouldnt make sense. Especially a middling program like Washington. Until Neuheisel left in 02, Washington was one of the better football programs. Maybe the thought of returning his old school to glory interests him. He had already accomplished so much at Mizzou. Its not crazy. In the end he will probably just use the UW job to get more money from Mizzou, like Sumlin just did at A&M. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) Why would a coach currently playing for a SEC Championship and a possible spot in the NC game consider going to Washington? He was there for 12 years as a player and assistant, so he has ties to Seattle. His stock will never be higher, the rest of his division will never be this injured and bad. I don't know if UW can offer him more money than Mizzou, but money talks too. I'm not saying he should or will leave, but I would think they give him a call and he at least hears them out. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 01:28 PM) My wife will be happy that James Franklin is staying. I'd imagine that Mizzou's coach gets a call from UW Sunday morning. -

Sarkisian to USC. Not a very spirited hire, he was very mediocre at UW. Almost think holding on to Orgeron would have been a better move. -
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:14 AM) Whatever they end up doing, I hope they mess it up. The Rams with a good QB would be a real headache to the rest of the NFC. They are in QB hell right now. They have so much invested in Bradford, it's hard to just dump him, especially after the injury. But he hasn't shown to be a franchise QB yet.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:36 AM) Thomas said this morning he's coming back next year. What a joke. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) If you really think you and others on here know obvious plays that will no doubt work for yardage and Trestman doesn't, it's time for the Fire Trestman thread. Without a doubt if he called for one of these so called slants and the pass was tipped and picked off, the experts who now say that would have worked would have been saying, "they were in obvious FG range, why are they taking any chances? It's Monday morning. If whatever he called worked, he is a genius. If it didn't, it was foolish. I disagree. Had Gould made the kick, it still would have been a foolish decision that worked. The detractors didn't just come out after the kick in hindisght, as the FG unit was coming on the field, tons of national writers on Twitter were wondering what the hell Trestman was doing. It was pretty obvious that it wasn't the smartest decision.
-
From 30-39 yards, Gould has made 90.5% of his career field goal tries. From 40-49 yards, Gould has made 72.2 % of his career field goal tries. That is a very significant difference and settling for such a long field goal on 2nd down was an awful decision.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 09:49 PM) Let me put it this way...if we had fumbled or threw an int on 2nd down there, would people be second guessing Trestman saying he should have just kicked the fg on 2nd down? I highly doubt it. Had they been on the 10 yard line, maybe. But not on the 30 yard line. I know Robbie is one of the most accurate kickers in history, but a 47-yarder is never a gimme, even in a dome.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 08:35 PM) Pretty amped for tomorrow night's game. This city is buzzing. Seattle is nearly unstoppable at home. We'll see how Brees handles the ridiculously loud stadium and temps in the 30s at game time. If Qwest Field is the best home field advantage, I would say the Superdome is a close second, I have been to both. The winner tomorrow night is the front runner for the #1 seed and favorite to make the Super Bowl.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 02:42 PM) So assuming he gets in (he should) Im gonna request a couple days off in Cooperstown NY and go to the ceremony. Any other STers making the trip? If it was a few years ago I would, but can't make it happen next summer. Growing up he was always my favorite baseball player and I've never been to the Hall so it would be the perfect combo.
-
QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 08:14 PM) The reason he did it is because our line is so bad. Being in FG range meant Minnesota could stack the box as we go into obvious run mode. We almost always lose yards in those situations. Passing was out of the question as well, mainly because of how bad our line was playing. When you wonder why our yards and our points never correlate, it's because we can't execute on big downs because our line always lets us down in those situations They threw for 355 yards and have two incredible receivers. Run a quick drop and let one of them make a play if you are that concerned about the line.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 06:32 PM) I don't quite agree, but I do hope he learns from some of these decisions. Might be a bit of an extreme reaction, but it has been a pretty bad month for him. I do like him, so I agree that I hope he learns from some of these mistakes.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 03:45 PM) On 2nd down. I've been less than impressed with Trestman this year. As good of a job I thought he did in the first two months, he has been equally as bad the last month. Looking like a great offensive coordinator, but not head coach material.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) Unless Detroit chokes (unlikely but that team is full of idiots, starting with their HC), we can most likely say good bye to our NFC North division title hopes. If the Lions split their last four games, the Bears would have to win out. Not gonna happen.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:30 AM) As a UConn basketball fan, I used to root for the "lesser" Big East teams. But when it came to the rivals like Pitt, Cuse, GTown etc I always rooted for failure of epic proportions. Exactly. I can root for some Big Ten teams, but OSU, Iowa, and Indiana basketball will never get an ounce of support from me. -
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:07 AM) I think the is about Nolasco and Hughes being a 1-2 punch. I can see Nolasco being a 3.60 (DH now) and Hughes a 4.25. Probably didn't have much to do about A.J. Exactly. Phil Hughes is bad and Nolasco is Javy Vazquez version 2.0. If that's your 1-2 punch, good luck winning 70 games.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 09:32 AM) Ya that sucks, I liked the F&F movies as well, well at least some of them. And asshole question of the day...so what does this do to F&F 7 that was supposed to come out next year? There are 7 Fast and Furious movies? Wow. I assumed the series died after that Tokyo drift nonsense

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) Lol. Awesome. I never understood the whole root for your conference thing. You hate a team for 364 days a year then suddenly are supposed to root for them? No thanks. -
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 30, 2013 -> 11:52 PM) Nolasco and Hughes should be an impressive 1-2 punch in that park, especially if AJ is calling games.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 10:12 AM) I just hope you are warming up your Big Ten chant to counter the folks down south pulling for their conference. As a fan of a Big Ten school, I say go SEC, anybody but the Buckeyes. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 02:25 AM) What about fsu this year makes you think they have a bad defense? Giving up 7 to Clemson in Clemson? They are certainly better than michigan that just gave up only 42 to them. Btw. Mizzous EJ Gaines held mike Evans to 8 yards on 4 catches. f*** Mizzou -

So I hate Ohio State because they have the worst fan base in sports, but why are people writing them off against Florida State? They may give up 40 points, but they can score 49 on them. If they score enough to beat MSU, then watch out.
