  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) Seattle is about to win on a brutal personal foul call Schaub lost the game with the brutal pick six in the 4th. No reason to throw that with the lead late.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) Forget this game ever happened and move on. Just don't listen to Chicago sports radio on Monday
  3. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 12:39 PM) By the way, early line is OSU -4. I'd be shocked if that's not at least 6 1/2 later in the week. I would love to see the Cats win, but their performance so far this year has me worried. Fitz will have them ready to play though.
  4. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) Didn't understand why Konerko only hit once -- and left after making an out. what kind of exit was that? forgettable, just like this season. As opposed to letting him go 0-4 and not getting a solo standing ovation?
  5. Might be time to bring in McCown and save Cutler's knees & head from Suh. Bad day, but just one game, get them back when they come to Soldier Field.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 01:37 PM) That was pretty neat. Paulie taken out in the middle of the 2nd inning so the fans and the Royals could cheer for him. My favorite player in Sox history by far. Awesome. I was gonna ask if he got an ovation or anything when he came up to bat.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) 4. The Bears are on the road. Make it 8.
  8. With Vincent Jackson banged up but active with a rookie QB, dare I start Eddie Royal over him?
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) Pretty crazy how it was handled. https://twitter.com/InsideUSC Normally I would call that move unclassy, but Kiffin is such an asshat he deserves every ounce of shame. This firing is about more than results on the field.
  10. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 11:14 PM) Only competition is wash stanford I bet they are holding on the Stanford trip until Oregon comes to town. Evanston it is. Probably be more OSU fans in the background.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 07:04 AM) USC bids adieu to Lane Kiffin @USC_Athletics: Breaking news: Lane Kiffin has been relieved of his duties as USC's head football coach per AD Pat Haden. It's like Christmas Day for my in - laws. Nobody out there liked him. It's not often a college coach gets fired midseason.
  12. One would think that College Gameday will be in Evanston next weekend.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 10:21 PM) Holds are necessary due to the absurd blown save for middle relievers Nothing worse than when an expert compares a middle reliever's career saves to his blown saves.
  14. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:16 PM) I don't think he should be considered part of the rebuild. Closer is the last thing you worry about during a rebuild.
  15. Rays giving up homers to guys I've never heard of, Rangers 3 outs from victory. They would be tied if results hold.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) Also goes to show they just can't give up De Aza for nothing this offseason just cause they didn't like his execution this season. I concur. I still don't get why everyone is so eager to dump him for a bag of balls. He has his shortcomings but definitely has value given his salary situation.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) Rangers moved their start time from 7:05p to 11:05a because of the forecast...and it looks like they'll be in a delay by the 3rd inning. Also looks like rain for the Indians/Twins game. I think I'm rooting for a three way tie. A team could potentially play four games in four cities in four days.
  18. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:02 AM) Loria tops Sterling because Loria has destroyed multiple franchises. Sterling at least has changed and is paying out the cash. It depends where you rank blatant racism on the list.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) What a joke. What should Sweum be fired for? For not losing enough? Sveum is just a place holder. Theo didn't want his WS winning genius to go through the lows of rebuilding.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) Friday has been the worst day of the week for the Sox. 5-20. Some good Thursday night specials somewhere in the city?
  21. Glad to see CT finally win, first time I rooted for Boston. That food challenge was out of control, did not need to see that much vomit. Watched the reunion just to see the punch, but that was a tough watch.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 09:32 PM) Are you saying that as a negative toward Paulie? He mentioned family a few times. Unless I'm mistaken he said his kids love Chicago and he won't be moving. The interview was very low key and he talked in a conversational tone. He was very honest saying he's talked to a lot of players about it and said something like there's 40 reasons to retire; 40 reasons to return. Anybody dissing Paulie ought to listen to the interview. He was humble. He said he's always been a player who deserved playing time. He said that might not be the case next season and that is a thing that would bother him. He said a lot of things. It sounds to me like he would like to keep going but he doesn't want to go to another city to play and he doesn't want to be a burden/lousy hitter as a White Sox. My guess is if he retires it's because the Sox tell him they don't think he's got the talent to be a productive hitter anymore. My guess the deciding factor would be the tone of his conversation with Hahn. And of course money. Isn't he a free agent? He might not want to prove himself for minimum (baseball) wage. Hahn seems like a good guy and judge of talent. I believe whatever he says to Paulie will ultimately force Paulie's hand either way. Not a negative at all, just stating a fact. I have no issue at all. As we discussed earlier, Thome wanted a ring so bad, he was willing to be a full time pinch hitter full time anywhere. Paulie has his ring and just wants to be comfortable, good for him.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 27, 2013 -> 07:51 PM) I think the Royals are the only team in MLB that hasnt made the playoffs this century. Toronto? I don't think they have made it since their back-to-back WS titles.
  24. 2nd worst owner in sports? (No one tops Sterling)
