  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 09:00 AM) WHYYYYYY I could have emailed you the .epub or .mobi!!! I don't even know what that means, I still live in the 20th century and read books printed on paper.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) I started a wonderfully different book last night. "Man in the Empty Suit". I'm flying through it. It's all about this guy who can time travel and every year he goes to the same spot to celebrate his birthday - and it's basically a convention of himselves at different ages. So every year he is seeing the party from a new perspective. All the sudden one of the years gets murdered at the party. Insane. Totally different. Very excited to finish it. Just ordered it
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 12:04 AM) Momentum + home ice = good spot for the Hawks Road team has won twice in OT, momentum keeps flip flopping, IMO this series is a f***ing coin flip at this point. Just sit back, relax, strap it down and enjoy the ride. (And try not to have a heart attack if you are a Hawks or Bruins fan)
  4. That Kane-Toews line works well again, big surprise. Crawford was allowed his one bad game, step back up on Saturday. I might have a heart attack by next Wednesday. HAWKS WIN!!!!!!
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 03:55 PM) Can you guys really see the Hawks drop 3 straight? I saw it happen on May 18, 20 & 23 by a combined score of 9-2.
  6. My prediction that the Orioles would regress this season certainly didn't account for Chris Davis becoming the white Miguel Cabrera.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 01:34 PM) So we are looking at a decent chance that New England doesnt have Hernandez AND Gronkowski next season for a period of time. You have to wonder how that offense will look, including Welker every one of Bradys security blankets have been removed. I doubt they even make the NBA playoffs next year
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 12:09 PM) A previously elusive figure in the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal has spoken out, saying clinic founder Anthony Bosch visited Alex Rodriguez during last year's American League Championship Series after the New York Yankees slugger sought his help amid a 1-for-9 slump. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id...esis-crony-says So MLB is paying people for information? I don't care if ARod gets in trouble, but something doesn't seem right about that. And it could make it tougher to prove when the union appeals any suspension.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:33 AM) Costa Rica did not get approval to use it so the match will be played at their new national stadium, so that's a definite plus for the US Nice. I'm sure they wanted to play there as payback for the snow game.
  10. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 10:35 AM) I think someone can be called to the carpet without being on the hot seat. If you want reasons the Hawks are trailing in this series, Q is as much to blame as anyone, IMO. It doesn't mean he's on a proverbial hot seat. *********** Hossa not on the ice for morning skate. Mayers is skating in his place with Handzus & Sharp. That makes me think that Hossa will play tonight, because no way Mayers plays on that line. Unless Q is trying to pull a fast one on Julien again, ha.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) Yeah, I think the same thing...he basically just put his head down and ran from the three point line to the middle of the lane and all Ray Allen did was sort of scrape at his arm...Ginobli being out of control sort of negated the contact by Allen in my view... I still don't understand how that wasn't traveling. ( I guess I don't watch much NBA though)
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) Dunn isn't even the worst player in the last 10 years. Probably not even close. His 2011 was the worst season in White Sox history though.
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 06:54 AM) Next matchday is September 6. If the US beats Costa Rica and Mexico/Honduras tie, the US is qualified with three games to spare. The US never plays well in Costa Rica and they are playing the game at that hellhole Saprissa, so doubtful US qualifies then, but it's nice to have them in such a good position already.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:39 PM) Only if they lose game 7. But can you imagine being on that team, being so close to a title and blowing it? That team might not get another chance at a title. I feel bad for Duncan because he was an absolute monster tonight and his teammates choked away title #5. I only started watching late in the 3rd, but I barely even noticed Duncan on the floor. He had the monster first half, but only scored 5 points the rest of the way and missed a couple close looks late in the game.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) I guess I meant he might be available now since he's looking like a bust like Teahen, a change of scenery guy. They actually could use Rios/and or Viciedo so I saw them as a trade partner. They also could use Beckham. And I bet the change of scenery gets Viciedo going? Why in the world would you give up on Viciedo already just to get a guy like Moustakas who looks much worse?
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 09:01 AM) Youk back on the DL. He has been hurt and awful. The Sox did play the Youk card perfectly. Gave up nothing to get him, paid him very little, and discarded him when they would have had to pay him to be awful and injured. Herniated disk in his back, needs surgery, out 10-12 weeks now.
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 02:20 PM) Marian Hossa is "likely to play" in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final Wednesday night, according to Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville. Hossa was a last-minute scratch Monday night, but judging by Quenneville's comments after the game and this afternoon it sounds like he was doubtful to suit up in Game 3. Ben Smith, who took Hossa's place in the lineup, didn't warmup because Quenneville didn't want to tip his hand. If Hossa returns for Game 4, expect Smith to find himself in the press box again. Per Rotoworld I'm sure that really threw Claude Julian's entire game plan into disarray.
  18. Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger Quenneville says Hossa is likely to play game 4. Won't specify injury. @aaronward_nhl reported last night he believes it's neck related.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) Anything new coming out on the radio waves out there in regards to Hossa? The players claimed that they knew he might miss the game all day, which makes it sound like it wasn't a freak injury during warmups.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) Generally an assistant has quite a bit of responsibility for the PP, so I dont personally put a ton of heat on him. I mean we are in the SCF after all. The power play was even worse last year and Haviland got let go at the end of the season, but I think there was more behind the scenes to that move, not just a result of the s***ty PP.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) This playoff run has cemented the idea of him as a real top goalie. He has most likely earned himself a trip to Sochi in February.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 11:31 PM) Sale (imo) goes nowhere unless Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Manny Machado or Buster Posey are coming back. I know the injury risk. But f*** it. You just gotta cross your fingers and hope for the best. Elite, cost-controlled, or in Sale's case, team-friendly contracts such as the one he just signed are by far the most valuable commodity in the new-modern age of baseball. I agree. Say what you want about the state of the Sox right now, but with Sale's contract, he could easily be the ace on the next Sox playoff team. You can't just dump him for unproven minor leaguers, no matter how hyped up they are as prospects.
  23. On his first two pitches as a Cub, Henry Rodriguez first hit the umpire, then Carlos Beltran.
