Has anyone ever been to Arlington to see a Rangers game? I've always wanted to see the Sox play there as I go to atleast 1 road series a year, sometimes 2, but they always play in July and I don't enjoy 100 degrees at all. I expected 100 every day in early August last year when I went to see us play in KC, since that was what the weather report gave, instead it was 65 the first 2 days with rain.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:29 PM) He's been consistently in the .237 range for a while now. Between that and Crede's 40 pt plummet over the last 40 days, it would really help this offense if PK either picks it up or gets benched. That's true, but like I said, he was at .200 in what seems like a month ago. I agree on Crede. Too bad we'll never trade him. Agree on Paulie. He isn't very good right now.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) Prepare the doom and gloom threads Well, that'll happen on this site, but playing like garbage the past 4 days now hasn't helped.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) As DAllen stated earlier today, Swisher has been just a huge disappointment. Well I hope nobody expected .310 with a .500 OBP along with 45 HR and 140 RBI. He's a lifetime .250 hitter for God's sake and his BA is going up. He'll more then likely probably finish around .250 with a pretty damn good OBP.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) Not a curse for the White Sox but for him personally It was a huge one. I guess he bought his kids houses and they became drug addicts. Everyone asks him for money. He and his wife started this White Sox charity before all the problems started, it was their way of giving back, and he'll do it until he dies, but supposedly he is running out of money. I guess he had to cut his kids off because of excess spending, drugs etc. and his wife died. He owned a bunch of houses but was going to go back to just 1. Oh wow. Never knew that. Thanks. BTW- I was joking about 2005.

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) Kong = 7 K's in his last 7 AB's? 2-14 in his last 14 with 7 K's.

QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) I know it won't make anyone feel better but, all the other contenders are loosing today (TB, BOS) Like the Cubs?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) He won the lottery several years ago. I read an article, and he says the victory has been a curse. So much a curse they won it all in 2005, eh? Did not know he won the lottery. Thanks, never knew that. Was it the big-time one for like 40 million or a mini one for like 3 million?

Alex Senelius must have f***ing money trees.

Is there one of those can't miss prospects in the 2009 MLB draft? Because we could be dealing with him in Cleveland for many years. Great. If Dye would have just flyed out, it'd be 7-3. If Dye would have got on, it'd be 7-4. Instead, we're still down 5.
-
Carlos "I don't like admitting I'm the MVP of the team" Quentin with a smash only for Dye to go back away capped off with a 5-4-3 GIDP.

Twins win 3-2. We're up 2 at this point but after this domination by Texas we'll be 1.5 up.
-
It's a final- we're up 2 games on MIN.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:04 PM) Good job by Carrasco to do some mop up. Agreed. Impressive to say the least. Doesn't have an over-powering heater or electric stuff, but like Massett, apparently with confidence and heart he gets the job done.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) We do seem to have a tendency to make sub par pitchers (real high ERA from this Mendoza) into Cy Young Award candidates Don't forget Jorge De La Spahn.

Ozzie- "WTF does he want? Get your a** to first!!"
-
That wasn't even close. What the hell is DJ talking about- "NO?!!!?" ?
-
O/U- After Sunday, Josh Hamilton will have 88 RBI.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 07:52 PM) Why does Greg Walker have a job still? We have no clue up there, no preparation. Agreed. If that was Texas those last 3 games, they would have put up 15 on us every single game with all those chances we gave KC. If we could get out of this series still in 1st, I'd take it. If we don't win tomorrow, it'll be a sweep for sure for Texas.

Good choice there by OC. Way to continue having a s*** game, buddy. Watch AJ hit a HR here. We'd be right back in this with OC on but nooooo.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) That blond chick was the best thing so far in this game. Agreed. Hamilton's bad hitting the ball on a 110 mph swing was pretty nice as well.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) "Pimp-Superman" Oh, DJ. Atleast we won't have to hear that occasional ebonics-garbage from Stoney next year.

How did Swisher hit 22 HR last year and 35 the year before in a semi-pitcher's park in Oakland?
-
QUOTE (Hanky Panky @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) Before I make a new thread, did I just hear on the Sports Night commercial that Ozzie said Barry Bonds has a shot with the Sox? Did anyone else hear that? With Thome starting to hit, I don't think there'd be a place for Bonds. Even if we released/traded Konerko, we'd put Wise/Anderson in CF, Swisher at 1B, and Thome at DH. I will say, for the minimum, if we had a spot, I wouldn't mind it.

You know, if Texas ever got some pitching they'd contend for that division easy. I wonder if there's any way Texas could over-pay for CC at the end of the year and then go out and pay another solid SP like Garland.
