  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 04:43 PM) Anything above a 5 game divisional lead at the all-star game is great. I'll settle for anywhere from 4.5 to 6.5 over the Twins. Hopefully, it's in between, like you said. If we end up sweeping Kansas City, worst case scenario, we're still in first by the break. Exactly. We don't even need to sweep KC. If we lose tonight, win tomorrow, and sweep Texas- and Minnesota wins all of their games, we'd still be in first by the ASB. I was thinkin'- if we go 4-1 in our next 5, we'll be 18 games over at the ASB. After we come back, we have a real shot of sweeping KC and TEX at home. At that point, we could be 24 games over. Even if we go 5/6 in the home series's vs KC and TEX, we'd be 22 games over.
  2. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 03:45 PM) He wasn't in the lineup on Saturday. Your point? He got a day off Saturday, and everyone got one on Monday due to the day off.
  3. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) It's probably safe to take the Warriors off that list until they find another real PG, or possibly another big man as well. Davis really made that work, and they still missed the playoffs last year even with him. It's generally not a good sign when your 4 best players are wings. However, Portland should be a MUCH bigger threat assuming Oden is even close to healthy, so the point remains valid. It won't be easy to make serious noise out west. That's true about GS. Maybe Monta Ellis will committ to being more of a PG then a SG with 4-5 assists per. Even if Oden isn't healthy, they still have Bayless, Roy, Aldridge, Webster, etc., and that should be good enough to get them an 8 or better. You could be right. Denver is a mess and should be 10x better then they are with Camby, Carmelo, and Iverson, but they aren't. The Mavs window shut last year to making a run, and the Suns lost D'Antoni so I'm not sure they'll be running that up and down offense which Stoudemire and Nash exceed at (Shaq might like that, though).
  4. AJ was just doing his weekly interview on MJH and said he isn't playing tonight. Wow, that's terrible. He's 5-9 lifetime off of Bannister and he just had a day off on Monday. He can't go 2 days in a row??
  5. I'd love to see Detroit win 3/4 or even a split would work. If the Tigers won 3/4, we were 3.5 up tomorrow, we win our final game in KC, and we swept the Rangers, we'd be 6.5 up on Minnesota and 8 up on Detroit. If they split, we were 3.5 up tomorrow, we final our final game in KC, and we swept the Rangers, we'd be 5.5 up on Minnesota and 9 up on Detroit. I'd probably prefer this more one.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 02:55 PM) IF LA was able to sign Okafor or Smith this off-season I'd still consider them a very good team. I happen to like Okafor a lot and I believe a Kaman/Okafor front court would be very very strong. The only problem is, they probably won't even make the playoffs in the West. Lakers Hornets Rockets Jazz Spurs Mavs Suns Warriors Nuggets
  7. Twins have 1st and 2nd, 0 outs. Here they come... EDIT- But the Sawx turn the 'ol 6-4-5 DP on Casilla and then they got Morneau to ground out. *Wipes forehead*
  8. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) Maggette would have started for the Spurs, and Ginobili off the bench in his 6th man role. Finlay's just about done. That's why I was a little surprised. Sure his numbers are going to be good, but shouldn't the goal of every athlete be to win a championship? That ain't gonna happen with the Warriors. But for every one of those, there's a Larry Hughes I guess, which shows how selfish some of these guys are. And Brian, I don't know how the Cavs are a top 2 team at this point. They've added no-one yet, Ilgauskas and Wallace are another year older, and LeBron still needs help. 45 win team at best at this stage. Maybe not. I wonder if Cleveland might try to get Baron now. There's been talk that he might want to get out of his LA contract now that his "friend" Elton left him there to rot.
  9. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) bout time the twins go on a losing streak I'd love to see Detroit split the series with Minnesota coming up. They have a fairly easy month of August, though. They play Seattle 9 times, Oakland 7 times, KC 3 times, Cleveland 3 times, and the Yankees 3 times (in Minnesota). They also have a pretty easy month of September. Cleveland 3 times, Baltimore 3 times, Toronto 3 times, KC 6 times (all in Minnesota), and Detroit 3 times. At least we get to play them (unfortunately those 3 are in Minnesota) and at least they have to go to Tampa for 4.
  10. 14-5, Manny drives Youkilis in with a single.
  11. Make that 13-5- Youkilis just drove Pedroia in with a 2-bagger of his own.
  12. I totally forgot Atlanta and Toronto. Celtics Cavs Magic Sixers Raptors Pistons Hawks Bucks Celtics over Bucks in 4 Cavs over Hawks in 6 Magic over Pistons in 7 Sixers over Raptors in 7 Celtics over Sixers in 7 Cavs over Magic in 6 Cavs over Celtics in 7 Lakers over Cavs in 6
  13. 7-5 Sawx in the 6th. Twins get bases loaded with an out in the 7th and don't score. 8-5 now. Varitek looped a single. Gardenhire got tossed. 1st and 3rd, 0 outs, for the BoSox. 9-5 now. And now it's 12-5 after a 3 run Pedroia double.
  14. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 9, 2008 -> 12:07 AM) so start getting ready for a Magic-Bulls Round 1? cant wait til mid april! Switch around the Bulls and Heat. My mistake. Celtics over Bucks in 4 Cavs over Bulls in 6 Magic over Heat in 7 76ers over Pistons in 7 Celtics over 76ers in 7 Cavs over Magic in 7 Cavs over Celtics in 7 Lakers over Cavs in 6
  15. Celtics Cavs Magic Pistons 76ers Bulls Heat Bucks Yep.
  16. My bad on posting the Winner thread. Pressed it accidently.
  17. 3-2. Can't we ever go 0-2 then 1-2 and get a guy out? Why the hard way? Christ!
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) Ok, Ozzie. No more closing for Liney. If he hasn't figured it out by watching him the past 3-4 times he's come out to close it out, he won't now. Unfortunately.
  19. 2 outs. Tough out here with the psycho Guillen up.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:35 PM) They constantly F up their HD feed. I feel like such a peasant watching standard. I have DirecTV thus I don't get their HD. Even the regular one isn't working right now. If they drop WCIU next year it wouldn't affect me in any way.
