  1. Atleast now in a 5 or 7 game series vs the Cubs, I have more faith in Philly now then I did yesterday. Hamels/Blanton sure as hell looks better then Hamels/Eaton especially when it could be against Zambrano/Dempster (at Wrigley) or Zambrano/Harden (at The Bank).
  2. I am Brian, and I am a White Sox fan. Yours?
  3. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 17, 2008 -> 11:49 AM) The Schedule is out, Regular Season tickets go out on sale August 11 at 10 CST. The Hawks have a very strong march/april schedule, 15 home games I like the fact that Boston, Pittsburgh, and both New York teams come in this year. It seems like we haven't seen any of those teams in 2+ years.
  4. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 17, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) Wouldn't it be worth just offering Khabibulin and say Barker for Kopitar and not getting Ottawa involved (and offer picks and prospects if you have to get a deal done)? Having a 1-2 punch of Toews and Kopitar would be Crosby and Malkin like. The only issue would be how would you re-sign all 3 once they hit RFA I guess. Kopitar is a RFA after this season I believe and with Lang, Khabibulin, and Havlat coming off the books, that shouldn't be a problem to extend Kopitar. Also, Toews, Kane, and Keith can't be dealt with until 2011.
  5. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) over. Agreed. 154 IMO.
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Granted, what I think doesn't mean a thing, but to me, this is going to be a make or break type deal for Tallon. After this trade, this is pretty much it. The Hawks should be good to go with the cap, and the team should be set. After that, it's time for the playoffs. If he fails, then it's over for him, at least in my eyes. This is the off-season where "the run" starts, and this deal sounds like a huge part of it. Don't fail. What he said. If he (Tallon) makes this deal and f***s up our future, he will be out of here. BTW- if this trade goes down, our defense doesn't look so hot on paper with Barker/Seabrook gone and Wiz out for 2-3 months to start the year. Also, Byfuglien changed his # from 52 to 33.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) Indeed, tied the game against Eddie Guardado and the Mariners with two outs in the 9th, and then in extras he had that hustle double and scored the winning run. That was in April 2006 IIRC? Great game to be at, and I'm grateful to him for 2005. He'll catch on somewhere. Wasn't that BA?
  8. BTW- The Hawks will open up on the road in DC. The Bruins site also says the Hawks will play them twice, 1 time at home and 1 time on the road.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) I wonder where he is heading? North Side
  10. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) Seen this from Stuy.... "I just heard from a source (a good one) NHL rejected the deal. I have no other info. Speculation is the cap numbers didn't work. LA and Sens are pissed."
  11. If we get Kopitar, I'll do cart-wheels. He's a 20 year old offensive machine who isn't afraid to drop the gloves. Last year in 82 games he netted 32 goals with 45 helpers. In 2 years, he'll be what we never got in Hossa. from sportsnet.ca Again, though, our defense would become significantly weak again. We'd have Keith, Campbell, Seabs/Barker, injured Wiz, and then it drops off big time.
  12. Adios. Thanks for everything in 2005. Hopefully he can find a job with another team in need of speed.
  13. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 12:32 AM) Wheres Posednik when you need a late inning home run off Lidge Or Dye (he hit the GW RBI single in game 4 off Lidge as well)
  14. Youkilis now wishes Red Sox Nation hadn't voted him in. Come on now JD
  15. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 12:27 AM) or a throwing contest of who can throw the ball from home plate to the right field fence 314 feet(or whatever the dimension is i think thats it tho) That'd be no fair- if we knew that, we could have had Vlad thus winning by default.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 12:15 AM) Hinting a Francona forfeit? I really hope Hurdle would forfeit. The Rockies stink and the Red Sox actually have a chance at getting to the Series. BTW- why does it seem like Guzman and Navarro hit every inning?
  17. That was a semi-good pitch to hit. Q is mad at himself.
