  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) Thats because its impossible in the world of Hawk that a player could of possibly messed up. A White Sox player, that is. I knew this is how it'd go- Javy starts out well, gets to a certain inning only to start crapping down his leg, and then puts the cherry on top of the crapping by giving up a homer that is still going.
  2. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 06:36 PM) CABRERA SS PIERZYNSKI C QUENTIN LF THOME DH KONERKO 1B SWISHER RF CREDE 3B WISE CF RAMIREZ 2B I would have preferred OC, AJ, Q, Thome, Swish, Crede, Wise, Konerko, Ramirez. Oh well.
  3. Thank the Lord. Hester- get ready my friend for yours.
  4. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 12:10 PM) If you meant Danica as in Adriana Lima, you would be correct. Well, she was, too, but so was Danica.
  5. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) Right now I think if the Sox were able to "dump" Contreras, and then find a third baseman to replace Crede who would; 1 - Give you better defense than what Joe has given this season. 2 - Get on base more than either Crede or Fields Then they would look to move Fields for a young starting pitcher in the Danks mould who could become that 5th starter in the rotation. Of course that's very unlikely to happen, but I think with the Sox moving more towards finding hitters who are able to get on base more than the "all or nothing" approach, Fields may not be a fit for this team in the long - term both offensively and defensively (if he can't improve there either). Richard is capable, IMO.
  6. Good move. Rickie Weeks is awful at the plate while Durham will hit .295. I still want to see Milwaukee go out and get a guy(s) like Marte or Mahay.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 03:41 PM) Masset in the rotation would be ok for a team playing out the season. We need to win some games though, and Masset won't be good enough as a starter. Well, I'm not so sure we have that guy in the minors. Richard, Broadway, whoever is going to struggle.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) It surely doesn't seem like a real bright idea to start a s***ty reliever on two days rest, but, hey, what do I know? Can he be any worse then Contreras? IMO, Carrasco seems like a good long relief guy anyway, maybe we can keep Contreras on the DL, keep Massett in the rotation, and pray to God he keeps us in games unlike Contreras did.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) Masset to start on Tuesday, Russell sent down, I wonder who's coming up next? I'll guess Ehren. Ozzie wants to him to break the record for worst ERA as a RP in the history of baseball.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) I thought Fields was a top prospect. How bout Fields, Paulie, Broadway, Macdougal and Dotel for Ichiro. So now you want them to take a a good prospect but strikes out a ton, .220 hitter who stinks in the field, a mid-4 ERA guy in AAA, 3 bottles of icey-hot, and a good RP for the most popular player in the world? Put it this way- if we want Ichiro, we might have to include Quentin and probably Danks or Floyd, and then Fields, Getz, and Broadway.
  11. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 04:22 PM) I'd rather get a faster player, not another who is going to swing for the fences constantly, especially if we have Thome and Konerko. We won't be getting Dunn if we still have Thome or Konerko.
  12. QUOTE (VAfan @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) I see little hope of us staying ahead of the Twins in the second half. Anyone noticed that our pitching sucks? 5, 9, and 8 runs at home to the Royals? How many games in a row is it giving up 5+ runs now? The Twins' pitching has righted itself, and they have Liriano sitting in AAA ready to go. Plus, the Twins offense is perfect for their park, and we have 7 more games there, with none against them here. Then there is our own hot and cold offense. We just aren't consistent enough. I think we have to hope for Boston and the Rays to keep losing so the wild card is an option. Couldn't have said it any better. Not to mention Scott Linebrink isn't alive.
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) There is no reason to bring back Crede next year. Agreed. "Clutch Crede" is no more and his bad defense isn't going to be worth 8-11 million per like he's probably going to ask for.
  14. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Thornton faced German, Dotel faced Guillen That's what I meant. Thornton has to get 1 guy out and he can't, and instead of taking him out there and bringing in Line (is he alive?) or Jenks, he keeps him in. Wow.
  15. Great game by the coaching staff today: Ozzie keeps Danks in to face Avilies Ozzie keeps Thornton in to face German Crede isn't guarding the line Cox sends AJ You can also say no pinch runner for AJ was stupid as well. Nothing like losing 2/3 at home to the Royals. :chair

  17. Wilson walks Mauer on 4 pitches. Here comes Morneau...
