  1. Never mind, looks like I'm too late.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) It may end up looking like that in the end, but that layout you posted isn't official. Media-day was today to announce it, and they showed it like that, so yes, it is official. IMO, it should move closer to home yet in the same position, so the mound would center it.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) It looks like the Brewers have their rotation set up so that their main 4 pitchers face the Cubs next week? Not sure. All I know is barring injuries, extra days rests, or rainouts, CC and Sheets will face them next week, won't face them at all in a series in late-August/early-September, and only CC will face them in the final series of the year in Milwaukee (he will pitch that last game, so if they're tied, the Brewers have the best chance unless Piniella moves up Harden or Zambrano).
  4. This is what the set-up will be like for the outdoor game. If you're in one of the top rows behind home plate in the upper deck, have fun seeing nothing. This is why every seat at Soldier Field is a good one in terms of having a hockey game there.
  5. I know you may think I'm insane because everyone on this board hates the Red Sox for reasons they aren't even sure of, but I can't help but to love Fever Pitch.
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 10:16 PM) Who said anything about you? I don't know, maybe it comes from the fact that I made that comment and you made a sarcastic post about it. PS: Paul Konerko still blows (not towards you Tony, just toward everyone- no need in making a whole new post just to state the obvious).
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) Just got back from the game. Sitting in my seat tonight, it was blatantly obviously this club is clearly dead. The pitching sucks, the offense can't score any runs, and the defense is terrible. THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD Why do you keep coming back to that? The defense had nine 9 errors in the past 5 games, we weren't hitting, we weren't pitching against a bad KC team and a medicore Texas team on the road, and even our coaching/managing was bad. Enough with that. Last time somebody bashed me like this after a game, we went 1-3 from there up to now.
  8. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) He was being named as a pottential White Sox along Houston Street per mlbtraderumors.com Not anymore. BRIAN: Christian Guzman signed a 2 year extension with Nats. I saw that. My boy won't be our SS next year.
  9. Too bad, too sad. The team who "will finally win a WS" thus is "scary good" and could "win the division by 7-11 games" is only 1 game up. And, with CC and Sheets going the next 2 days for Milwaukee, the Cubs may be sharing a lead of 1st with the Brew-Crew fairly quickly.
  10. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) We don't need a starter, we need a #5 starter. Those should be pretty cheap and easy. If it only took a minor league prospect to get Randy Wolf, I can't imagine it would take too much to get a #5. I don't know who that would be...I'll leave that to the experts...but we don't have to go out and get the best pitcher available. Maybe Loiaza will be that guy? I wonder how much it'd take to get Washburn from the M's- although, NYY is interested and I don't want to get into a bidding war for a medicore SP.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 04:53 PM) Chipper Jones is in that division too I'd be OK with Odalis so long as it didn't cost much. Geoff Blum is terrible and if you'd rather have him over Juan Uribe, I have serious questions about your baseball judgment, because Juan Uribe is a far superior player to Blum. Regardless, there aren't many moves this team can make that will benefit them without making drastic changes to the lineup. So if by impact move you mean blockbuster move or anything close to that, no, the Sox won't be doing that, or atleast they shouldn't be doing that. Him, too. Also, I apologize- I just checked Blum's stats and I had no idea he was hitting .212. I thought he'd be more near his career mark of around .260.
  12. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 22, 2008 -> 05:15 PM) his grandfather passed away and the funeral is tomorrow, so he is pitching tonite and leaving after the game There's the excuse if he gets knocked around tonight...
  13. 2 guys I'd love to see us go out and get- Geoff Blum (not just for what he did for us in 2005, but the fact that he can play every position- 2B, SS, 3B, and OF will help us and maybe could signal the end of the Uribe regime in Chicago) and then Odalis Perez (we were close to getting him a few years back and now he has an ERA under 4 in a division with David Wright, Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Dan Uggla, and Hanley Ramirez).
  14. 11 runs in the past 4 games for the Chubs. They may not win this division if they continue to play like this on the road- they have 7 games left @ Milwaukee and 3 games left in STL.
  15. Kemp and LaRoche for Konerko, Fields, Poreda, and ????
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) THIS TEAM IS DEAD!!! FO SHORE! They certainly aren't alive.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Then there really is no reason for you to watch anymore. Why don't you find something more enjoyable to occupy your time? Wacthing my grandma drink a cup of coffee and/or watching an artificial plant grow is just about more enjoyable then watching a bunch of professional baseball players try to hit it a baseball the Dan Ryan everytime.
  18. Rip me all you want- We suck. Now we'll go out and win tomorrow and you'll say "WE SUCK, good call, you're an idiot" and so on- GREAT, WE BEAT THE RANGERS, THEY SUCK HARD ON THE ROAD AND WE SHOULD HAVE SWEPT THEM. EXCEPT THEY HAD WALTER JOHNSON ON THE MOUND TODAY AND WE HAVE A BUNCH OF BUMS AT THE PLATE. Pedro Martinez is on the mound again tomorrow for Texas.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 10:54 AM) I don't like Dunn on the current version of the Sox. If they get rid of Thome and Konerko I would be all about Dunn (because I believe every lineup should have a few power guys) but as currently constructed this team has enough power guys who don't hit for high averages and could use another guy or two that could hit for high averages, possess good speed and other attributes. You mean like Christian Guzman (speed, average) and Milton Bradley (average, some power)?
