I think he ends up with the Cardinals if he's traded at all. If they are in on him they have no reason not to try to top our offer. There's too much chatter with us to end up with him IMO.

I think what Nightengale is saying now is probably truth as he mentioned earlier the Sox officials were surprised they had the best offer.

The article makes me think our offer is based around Fulmer.

It's probably worth noting that Machado did say he wanted to move back to shortstop. And if the Sox are wanting to roll out the carpet for him I would imagine they would oblige him?
