  1. The fact that Hahn is trying hard to get an impending FA kind of makes me think they don't think he would sign here without playing here. Makes me a little concerned the org isn't perceived well by players.
  2. They’ve made an offer. @DanClarkSports: Several offers are on the table for Manny Machado - Cardinals, White Sox, Yankees, Phillies and Giants. #Orioles https://twitter.com/DanClarkSports/status/941126166596927488
  3. @whitesoxdave: PSA: DMing me for scoops won’t work, just sit back and enjoy the ride
  4. Fegan is strongly hinting this might be about Machado. https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/941115622565478400 “Would the White Sox trade for a player with very few years of control left (or only one), on the hopes they could get him to agree to a long-term deal? Know anyone that fits that description? https://theathletic.com/184071/2017/12/13/w...-mirror/”
  5. Not really news or anything but Austin Jackson is doing an AMA on r/baseball and had this to say about his time with the 2016 Sox. Someone asked him about the clubhouse's reaction to the Sale jersey cutting. "I absolutely loved my time in Chicago. One of the best organizations I've played with. Enjoyed the clubhouse, the team was a really close-knit team. As far as the Sale incident - I actually wasn't there for that, I had surgery for a torn MCL. But when I went back, everybody seemed to be laughing about it. I don't think anybody took it to heart." https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/...winter/dr5iizy/
  6. I just cant imagine we make an Abreu or Garcia trade. I think all the teams that would be interested on waiting to see what Hosmer/Santana/Martinez do.
  7. https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien/status/940333429912154114 @ChuckGarfien Hahn says there’s been a heightened level of trade talk since the meetings began.
  8. Hahn is going to be on MLB Network in about 5 minutes.
  9. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 12:52 PM) Back to back tweets The Chicago #Whitesox say they would have to be overwhelmed by offer to trade Jose Abreu, who's a powerful clubhouse influence. Unlikely to be traded -Nightengale Abreu and Avisail are being mentioned in trade talk. Garcia, who had nice year (tho not as nice as Abreu) may actually be the more likely one to go. #chisox - Heyman Much more likely to listen to Heyman than Nightengale. I don't understand why anyone pays attention to what he says.
  10. Yeah I remember this. I was in college and was incessantly looking at Twitter in class thinking we were about to get him and then saw the tweet about the Tigers getting him. I was so depressed.
  11. Nothing has changed. They won't trade him unless Rick gets what he wants. This is posturing.
  12. Looks like the Rangers got him. https://twitter.com/SandlerJ/status/938456493028003841
  13. This seems like a leak to get someone else to get serious about their offer. Much like Boston was with Frazier + Robertson.
  14. Dan Hayes has been let go from NBC Sports Chicago. Looks like they've restructured and let go of a bunch of people. https://twitter.com/DanHayesMLB/status/930148376607444992
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2017 -> 03:26 PM) Welcome to the playoffs Chris. Another first inning run this October. Oh s***, back to back homers. Chris did struggle at times when too pumped up it seemed. Yep I thought this was going to happen with him. Chris always seemed to crap the bed when he's too amped up.
  16. I would have to think the Tigers would do whatever possible to sign him with the money they cleared from Verlander.
  17. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 2, 2017 -> 09:34 AM) Looks like we get a way too early mock draft from Baseball America sometime today. It's up and has us taking Nander De Sadas. FWIW Seth Beer is not taken in the first round in this mock. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/mlb-m...8kCe5FhhRobK.97
  18. I remember watching the 60 minutes story on him and he mentioned his dream is to face Clayton Kershaw on the mound and at the plate. I wouldn't be surprised if his preference is an NL team.
  19. I think it's a nice deal for both sides. Detroit had an awful farm system and the guy they had to get a good return for is Verlander IMO. The Tigers are better for the future but I don't feel they will be ready to compete for anything until well into the 2020s.
  20. Sox players going: Pitchers: Dylan Covey, Jace Fry, Matt Foster, Connor Walsh Catchers: Seby Zavala Infielders: Danny Mendick Outfielders: Tito Polo http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/afl/club.jsp?team_id=454
  21. The homers were also a result of him having virtually no off speed stuff last night.
