  1. lol seriously Avi? Why the hell would you do that?
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) GB now at the Mendoza line. Heh. Remember when some of us thought Gordon had turned it around in May?
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) Good point. Also, CP3, the president of the NBAPA, just very publicly barred a player from negotiating with a team. Yeah that can't be good...
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) There's no way Fegan allows this contract to be signed tonight. He's been locked out to. Jordan can fire him at any time, so I don't think he has a say in this.
  5. Jeremy Lin's going to Charlotte for 2 years and $4 million. A lot cheaper than I thought he was going to be.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Adrian Wojnarowski ✔@WojYahooNBA DeAndre Jordan needs an agent certification on contract, invalid without it. Agents are expected to join Clippers, Jordan tonight at house. Oh boy. Maybe Cuban will send some rogue agents/lawyers to infiltrate DeAndre's house and let them in.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) This is absolutely hilarious. I don't know why you would have to go to this sort of extreme to get a guy to sign a piece of paper. If he's a god damn adult, he should be able to decide on his own. Is Mark Cuban going to somehow trick him into signing with Dallas if they actually meet face to face?
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) Lol, MJ just tweeted 6 trophies and a goat. edit: I can't figure out how to copy/paste it. #n00b July 8th, 2015: The day NBA players figure out how to use emoji
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 03:25 PM) That is the problem, you aren't allowed to sign the contract until 12:01 AM Thursday. Right now you can only verbally agree. I presume this was done so you could meet w/multiple people without offers being made but I say forget it, let people go crazy and not know what is going to happen. Perhaps the NBA should make verbal agreements binding. It really screws with teams.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) The big thing that it does to Dallas too is they wouldn't have signed Wes Matthews if they didn't have Jordan (at least I don't think). I agree on Jordan's part, an agreement is an agreement, that said, I don't see how the verbal commitment is binding (given the type of contract being discussed). Reality is it is a risk that exists if the league is going to have this non-sense of you can verbally agree, but not sign. I think its all junk and you should be able to recruit and sign people at the same time. I know it in theory allows everyone to get their ducks in a row but if people are going to agree they are going to agree anyway. Yeah I think teams will start making sure players sign the contract ASAP after they verbally agree after this whole debacle.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) I don't really understand the emoji thing going on either. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-don...-191228000.html The Paul Pierce one is hilarious.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) IIRC Boozer was the one doing the shady business though, correct? Whereas the Clippers are the ones coming in after the fact trying to get DJ back Yeah Boozer got the Cavs to let him out of his rookie contract with the promise to sign a 6 year deal worth $40 million with the Cavs. It made sense for both sides. Cavs would get to keep him longer while Boozer would make more than the $700k he was supposed to make in the last year of his contract. Instead, Boozer got a way better offer from Utah and signed with them. Cleveland decided not to match. I guess in this case, Cuban would be trying to go after the Clippers for tampering, but since there was no actual contract signed, he has no case. He could try going after Jordan since they had a verbal agreement, which is a lot like the Boozer situation, but there's nothing they can do legally there either.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 02:03 PM) Verbal agreement, i have no idea how binding it is. It is pretty bad form though. If a player agrees to terms and you move on to your next offseason move, only to have the player renege and go back to his former team, you have lost out on any potential replacement at that position. What Carlos Boozer did to Cleveland was way worse and I don't think Boozer got in trouble for it legally.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) movie companies are starting to put digital watermarks on the preview DVDs because these rips are becoming more and more common. Im sure some will be sniffed out and removed There's so many sources for this kind of stuff now. Before it was a lot of DVD screeners they send out to reviewers that get leaked. Those had watermarks, but people just cropped them and that would usually get rid of them. Now there's rips from Asia with subtitles coming out about a few weeks after a movie's release.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 09:00 AM) Nice, its been ripped? Looks like I have something to watch tonight. It's a WEB-DL. Somebody got a Blu-Ray quality stream of it online and ripped it. The movie just came out around a month ago. Rips that good this early are extremely rare.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 07:41 AM) Mr. Robot I started watching it last weekend. Awesome show. I've got it on DVR now.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 09:08 AM) Agree with all of the above. US looked awful for the most part. I really like Zardes and Yedlin, but they are a forward and fullback, respectively, not mid fielders. Chandler is so weird. He's constantly graded as one of the better RBs in the Bundesliga but just looks terrible on the National team. I don't know why Eric Lichaj can't get a call. And Alvarado is not ready for this stage either. Gonzalez should be there. It sounds ridiculous, but I can actually see a scenario where Cameron Carter Vickers is one of our starters at CB in 2018. And yes, that ref was completely over his head last night. I can see where Klinnsman is going with putting those two on the wings. Both have a ton of pace, but if you want that pace to really shine, don't play them as side mids in a 41212. Play them as wingers in a 433. Neither are technical enough to play as an outside mid effectively. I'd much rather have Yedlin playing as the RB and Zardes as a CAM or a substitute striker.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 01:00 PM) DeAndre to have final meeting w/Clippers. Has their been a high profile player who reached a verbal agreement who then switched. Not one of those, people reported but one of those, everyone reported and even Mark commented on it (and got fined) type of deal? Just curious. I presume their has, I just can't think of it. I guess you had Boozer leaving Cleveland for Utah, but that was a bit different. I've never seen anything like that outside of the Boozer case. And like you said, the Boozer case was a bit different and IMO far worse. LAC would be better for him, but this would really screw Dallas over considering they could have traded for someone like Hibbert. Now they might not have a center.
  19. Why did Klinnsman play Alvarado instead of Gonzalez? I really hope Besler not being on the roster has something to do with MLS. Otherwise, he should definitely be on the roster.
  20. I wasn't able to watch the game, but from the box score, it looks like Honduras had the ball quite a bit in our half. We were a lot more clinical with our chances, which is why we won, but 16 shots is a ton of chances to give up.
  21. Aaron Brooks back on a one year deal. I would have liked an upgrade, but it's better than him leaving and playing Kirk more.
  22. How the hell did Kershaw not make the all-star team?
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) USSSA is weird. We play in a hybrid ISA/ASA league, and there have been a few players that have come in from USSSA and they have been totally outclassed. I dont know what the difference is, but we had one guy pitch against us, and he was a tourney player. We lit the guy up, the final score was like 26-2 slaughter rule, and when he hit he looked like he never swung a bat. USSSA pitching is flat. The arc is 3-10 feet, so people can tee off more. When you put in the 6-12 foot ASA arc, a lot of players struggle with it. I have two completely different approaches for the two leagues. I don't have any kind of leg kick in USSSA, but I almost have to in ASA or else I'll hit everything foul. I actually enjoy USSSA pitching more, but people who usually play the tournaments are assholes. Whereas you get people just playing for enjoyment on weeknights, some of the people who come out of the weekend tournaments think softball is their life. Around here, USSSA is where all the best players play. If you want to play real competitively, you play USSSA. I've never seen an actually sanctioned ASA or ISA tournament here in Austin.
  24. QUOTE (Brian @ May 15, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) We noticed yesterday that two traveling teams from our area joined our Thursday rec league to get extra games and at bats in. It's BS because they will just kill everyone and meet in the title game. It's a f'n rec league. Go somewhere else. We used to have a ridiculously good team on Thursday nights. We didn't lose a game in 2 straight seasons. Then our manager got really involved in USSSA tournaments and started using the team as a way to recruit players and try them out before tournaments. Then we started sucking and more or less everybody quit the team. League night just isn't fun anymore when you're using it to warm up for tournaments or bigger games.
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) Make Swaggy p happen. I'm not sure we can. Lakers are looking to dump salary, we have no space and no non-guaranteed contracts they can dump.
