  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) Or may need more pen arms If it's a blowout for either side, we won't need the backend of the pen.
  2. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) It's truly a 50/50 game. Flip a coin Yeah, which is why I found it stupid that Robin was trying to save the backend of the bullpen for that game. The first game is much much more winnable. The second game has a chance to be a huge blowout for either side.
  3. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 23, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Old IBB process is slow and unnecessary. Give them the base. If you're trying to speed the game up, doing what they did with IBB is exactly what you should do. I know they don't happen that often, but shortening a game by 30 seconds to a minute is at least doing something about the length of games.
  4. Lawrie actually sounds pretty calm in this interview. I expected him to talk a lot faster.
  5. Robertson's not throwing that knuckle curve in the zone. It's still getting swings out of the zone, but he's at his best when he can get his cutter and fastball over the plate on the first two pitches and then absolutely freeze the hitter on 0-2 with his curve.
  6. Second game is very winnable. Anderson's been awful this year.
  7. There's no easy out at the top of this order. Don't pitch around anyone.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) Love the pitch call! Robertson's gotta get ahead. I think the Indians are gonna figure out he's gonna throw them knuckle curves to wipe them out on full counts soon enough.
  9. Alright one more. Santana's a tough out though.
  10. Robertson's control is bad today.
  11. That leadoff walk is gonna come back and bite us.
  12. Damn you Joe West. That was a strike.
  13. This is not gonna end well.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:08 PM) It is the situations he puts them in most of the time Right. Trust me I'm not happy about how poorly Albers and Duke pitched. They failed to execute. But a manager is supposed to put his players in a position to succeed. Having Duke try to go 2 innings when he usually pitches to 1 or 2 hitters is not putting him in a position to succeed. Putting Albers into a situation where he has 2 runners in scoring position is not putting him in a position to succeed.
  15. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) Who'd you rather see gone after this, Sanchez or Albers? Neither. Sanchez actually has a place on this team as does Albers.
  16. Frazier scores if that ball gets to the wall. Too bad Davis is pretty fast and cut that off.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) Sale's game last Thursday wasn't too bad, either. Just that one pitch to Gattis. We didn't hit though.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) I'm not a fan of Ventura but Cooper makes most of the pitching decisions. I never see him criticized. Robin should definitely have the final say though.
  19. And before we only blame Robin, you gotta remember Coop has some input into these decisions as well.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) No, you use Albers in the 7th when you are up by 3 and the bottom third coming up in the line up. You then use Duke for Santana, Kipnis, and Lindor if neither of the other 2 get on and if they do you go to Nate Jones. It is really that simple I agree, but Robin already used Duke for the 7th.
  21. The last game where everything went right for us was the first game against the Yankees. Recently, one thing or another screws us over in games. It might be the bullpen in this game.
  22. Robin should have let Albers start the 8th. Career-wise, Santana is worse against righties than lefties. Kipnis is better vs. righties, but it's not like he got out vs. Duke.
  23. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) For me it started with pulling Latos with 3 run lead in the 7th at 80ish pitches. I'm fine with it since Latos can go downhill so fast.
