  1. Maybe Blatter won't win the election coming up in 2 days after all. One can hope. And maybe, just maybe, this will lead to Qatar losing the 2022 WC? Please let that happen.
  2. This team simply sucks to watch. Nothing's more boring than offense that labors to score 3 runs. It doesn't help that our defense screws our pitching over more often than not. I spent $130 on MLB.tv and I can't bring myself to actually watch a whole game most of the time. It's not enjoyable. It doesn't help that I'll tune in 30 minutes after the start of the game and I see the Sox are already down by 5. I know that there's almost no chance they'll come back and win because the offense is putrid.

"Is this Windows Vista bad? It's not iPhone 4 bad, is it? f***! Don't tell me this is Zune bad." "I'm sorry Gavin. It's Apple Maps bad."
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 26, 2015 -> 03:09 PM) “They don’t understand the game,” Amaro said. "They don’t understand the process. There’s a process. And then they [b****] and complain because we don’t have a plan. There’s a plan in place and we’re sticking with the plan. We can’t do what’s best for the fan. We have to do what’s best for the organization so the fan can reap the benefit of it later on. That’s the truth.” Well Ruben Amaro's plan sucks. And it's sucked for years.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) The SWOT last week was some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen "You can even SWOT a person. But be careful, they might SWOT you back".

    QUOTE (Brian @ May 25, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) Silicon Valley is so F'n good. It's a shame there's only 10 episodes per season.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 23, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) They just might be the best nba team (no hyperbole here, check the numbers) of the 21st century. And much props to Steve Kerr for, despite playing in the 80's and 90's, recognizing that it's a MUCH different game/era and adapting to it. You got Phil/Fisher running the f***ing triangle in 2015. lol considering you exaggerate a lot, this doesn't say much of anything.
  8. Was Melky getting roids in Toronto last year or something?
  9. I'm pretty sure I can throw a good game against the Sox if I had Marcum's changeup.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2015 -> 09:21 PM) I assume Rodon is done? He's at the century mark and he struggled like crazy that last inning. No way he goes out there again.
  11. Can we get another Adam Eaton bomb?
  12. Rodon had no control of his fastball today. Yet he still only gave up 1 run. We're fortunate.
  13. Looks like Eaton has some sneaky power.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) Only a 5 mph difference though. He's getting way too many swings and misses We'll know the outcome of this game during the second time around.
  15. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ May 20, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) Shouldn't be long until they're killing this guy or it's a worry. 85mph fastballs, followed by 80mph changeups. Marcum has had a ton of success against us in the past. The Sox suck at hitting pitchers with good change ups.
  16. Didn't get enough of it. Good ABs so far though. They've made Marcum come at them with fastballs.
  17. Get deep in counts against Marcum and we'll have success. Start getting behind and we're going to be swinging at 80 MPH change-ups all day.
  18. Finally got somebody to bite on that slider.
  19. What kind of throw was that? That looked like a pop up.
  20. It wasn't even a well placed fastball and Melky swung right through it.
  21. Avi had knee inflammation? I thought it was something in his back.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2015 -> 06:51 AM) The problem with doing that is if Baez can't play 2B (offensively more than defensively), then they've just created another hole to replace the one they fixed. They could probably stick Alcantara back there again, but pretty sure they don't want to do that at this point. This is by far the best Kris Bryant "rumor" out there. That he could have been a Rhodes Scholar...their definition is REALLY pushing it. Bryant has options if his baseball career doesn't pan out. Stafford said Bryant ranked second in his (Las Vegas high school) class while taking honors and advance placement courses. Despite his ascent as a major league prospect, Bryant honored his commitment to the University of San Diego, succeeded as a finance major and could have filled out the paperwork to apply as a Rhodes Scholar at the end of his junior year there. But he didn't because had he achieved the honor, it would have steered him away from pursuing a professional baseball career for at least two years. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0314-story.html Kris Bryant...he was heavily recruited by LSU, Arizona State, UC Irvine, Stanford, Clemson, Auburn, USC and Vanderbilt...chose to attend USD because of the great baseball program, the beach and the wonderful weather in San Diego...notes that he graduated high school with a 4.78 GPA, and that he is really into cars, and likes to play golf. http://www.usdtoreros.com/sports/m-basebl/...ant_kris00.html And I graduated with a 5.54 GPA.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2015 -> 09:47 PM) Ventura's best game of the season. I liked him not calling for the Alexei bunt, as we know he can't bunt to move runners over. Called the hit and run this inning with Conor as well. I was afraid that he'd hit into a double play. I'd rather he pop up a bunt than ground it to SS.
  24. Hell of a game and what a job by Sanchez. He bailed us out after Alexei and Soto didn't do their jobs.
  25. Over .500 for the first time.
