  1. Bill Simmons is saying Afflalo and Melo to Bulls is "very possible" I don't think the Bulls' FO is this creative.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 01:18 PM) Isaiah Austin is done with basketball because of some genetic disorder. That kid has been through a ton, I feel real bad for him. Just awful. First he has no depth perception, now he can't even play basketball. He definitely got screwed by the genetic lottery.
  3. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 11:57 PM) Why isn't the tie breaker head to head first? That would make too much sense apparently. That's what makes sense, but it's not what FIFA does.
  4. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) Only if you believe those bogus rankings. Yup, those FIFA Coke rankings are a joke. I've been looking at SPI, but even that's not all that accurate.
  5. I actually don't like the fact Germany couldn't beat Ghana. The US most likely isn't going to beat Germany. Even if we draw them, Germany will still finish first based on goal differential. However, Ghana drawing keeps them alive. A loss by Ghana would have basically eliminated them. A draw against Portugal would have been enough for the US to basically advance, but now it seems like they pretty much have to win or at least draw twice. In the case where Ghana wins against Portugal, we'll have to win based on goal differential (I don't believe FIFA cares for beating another team head-to-head, that's only taken into account if goal differential and goals scored are the same).
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) ...not much difference these days. If you want to live in California in any kind of popular area -- be sure you're making about 120,000 a year, so you can be kinda-middle class. Less than 80,000 in most areas of California means you're living in poverty after that 2500$ rent. One of my friends makes around $70k in LA, he barely breaks even and he's only paying $1200 for rent.
  7. Bosnia got robbed. They also had two great shots at the end to at least tie it. What a shame.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 04:18 PM) So paying Boozer $15 miilion saving a rival from having to, just for a mid first round pick, is better than just letting him walk? This is too good to be true. It's an expiring contract.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) The other side of the coin is, how does everyone react if Melo walks away, for nothing? There's that stupid rumor about the Cavs trading their #1 pick to the Knicks...lol. I doubt the Cavs are THAT stupid. They can sign Melo out-right. They don't have to trade a pick to do it. I also don't think Melo would go to Cleveland unless they had LeBron.
  10. Question about the S&Ts...can they happen before free agency starts?
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) How much stock do we put in David Schuster's sources? Can't be worse than Chris Broussard's.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 11:06 PM) Anybody from California in here that can give me suggestions on good cities/towns to live in? I have been looking into the San Diego area but don't know much about it. Can anyone help me on what California/San Diego is like? San Diego's pretty awesome. Weather is great (obviously) and I really enjoyed my three night stay there when I went down there to interview for a job.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 01:37 PM) OMG BULLS TRADE FOR AFLLALOLOL It wouldn't surprise me.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 01:33 PM) God damn I'm going not going to last this. This will end up killing me. I have this gut feeling that nothing will happen or we'll end up with bread crumbs. It's just the Bulls way.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 01:06 PM) David Schuster 16 mins · Sources out of NY say that Phil Jackson is now ready to sign and trade Carmello Anthony, with the Bulls the front runner as a trade partner. Stay tuned He also says Boozer is in the deal as of right now. It's early though...the draft is next week and free agency doesn't start until July 1st.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 12:02 PM) I saw this all over my Facebook the past couple days and people complaining about it (live in the St. Louis area). I just now watched it and I don't see a problem with it.. They said Molina was a great catcher but they are just supporting their guy and they think he is better.. I can't stand the Cardinals fan base and the whole "we are the best fans in baseball" stuff they do. It's not like the Brewers aren't endorsing a better option... Molina's been decent this year, but Lucroy's got a .940 OPS and he's a catcher.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 09:25 AM) 10 GS, 2.52 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 64.1 IP, 12 K/9, 1.1 BB/9, 10.75 K/BB (which may be the best ever). He's had 1 bad start. Saying he's been erratic is like saying Chris Sale has been erratic. I mean, I just don't understand how you can say he's been erratic even compared to previous years. He's been dialed all year long. He had one start where he gave up 7 runs in 1.2 innings. I think that's what he meant by erratic, which I don't exactly agree with. But I can see where he's coming from.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 03:55 PM) So what do we think the reason for that is? Suarez obviously not struggling so far. There's always stars from club play that do thrive, but we're talking about two of the best players in this generation in Messi and Ronaldo that haven't exactly fulfilled expectations in World Cup play. As TheTruth05 said, it probably has to do with their teams. Ronaldo and Messi play on two of the most stacked club teams in the world. Their club teams are definitely better than their national teams. Plus, when you're as big as Ronaldo and Messi and you're going to be the target for both your opposition and your home country. Ronaldo is in a less enviable position than Messi since Argentina has better talent surrounding Messi. So whatever goes wrong probably goes on your shoulders, especially if you don't play well. It's a bigger stage and there's a lot more pressure to perform. I really wish baseball could have something similar to the World Cup. The World Baseball Classic is a joke. It's clear that the guys who participate care more about their ML career than their home country. I feel like it's almost the exact opposite in the World Cup.
  19. Suarez has made a huge difference for Uruguay.
  20. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) Feel kinda bad for the dude, I mean, he's the main face and leader of this England squad but they haven't had a true cup contending team around him in almost every WC he's been to. I guess it comes with the role, you're supposed to be the best player on the squad now prove it no matter what. Easier said than done. A lot of the superstars of this generation have been ineffective in the world cup. Messi and Ronaldo average around one goal a game in club play, but they have like 4 WC goals combined between the two of them.
  21. 5 minutes after I say Rooney can't score...he does...finally.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2014 -> 02:51 PM) Baines got beat...he's too much of an attacking player for that position. Almost starting to feel sorry for Rooney. He had a near-miss on both a free kick and also hit both crossbars (in the corner) on a header off a corner kick. Entertaining game, desperate battle for survival on both sides. He's just not meant to score in the World Cup.
  23. Would have been a perfect game if Hanley didn't make that bad throw.
  24. Good recovery after losing 4 in a row.
  25. I thought this game was over in the 7th. Guess not.
