  1. Eaton should stop diving into first. It doesn't really help you get there any faster.
  2. Flowers made contact with a 94 MPH fastball middle-in. That's a rare occasion.
  3. Why not play Nieto Robin? Why? Edit: Oh that's why...
  4. So yeah...Alejandro's probably gonna go yard 30 times this year. It's interesting to see him go from a slap hitter with gap power in 2012 to the turn and burn pull hitter he is now.
  5. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 01:42 PM) I know the Twins are bad..but this is promising for Q after a suspect spring. He had two really bad outings. But he recovered quite nicely in his last start.
  6. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 11:34 PM) Oh god no, give me Semien every time. His 0-10 so far does not worry me, he is far more talented. Semien should be getting everyday PAs down in AAA when Gordon comes back.
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) Also in Nieto's first ever MLB at bat, I feel like he looked more comfortable at the plate then Flowers has ever been. At least he looks like he can make contact on a fastball over 90.
  8. Bonifacio gets hot to start the year. He did that when he first came up too.
  9. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) there were two strikes on him with a man on second, and he strikes out looking. And why would he be looking fastball? I only saw deduno throw one fastball the entire inning, which was the first pitch to Dunn. he also looked bad that entire at bat. He chased high pitches in the high leverage situations. To strike out twice in situations where you had to make contact is bad...especially when you're the #2 hitter. Yesterday's game was fine though.
  10. My Nexus 7's flash memory just died. It no longer gets passed the Google boot screen and I can't re-write any of its partitions in fastboot. Oh well, at least it's fairly cheap.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 09:17 PM) I don't necessarily think that's true but I can buy that argument. Again, nobody's saying he shouldn't play. He should be getting playing time, I just don't think it should be in the 2 spot. Especially when we're trying to get guys on base in front of Abreu.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) It's 2 games. Every player in the major leagues has looked like crap for 2 straight games. He could be pressing and one hit could turn that around. I obviously don't know that but you can't tell me he's not ready because of 2 games. IMO putting him in the 2 spot might make him press even more.
  13. And now the Cubs just tied it in the 9th, so that review is actually going to affect the outcome of this game.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 06:44 PM) If Marcus is playing, he's still my 2 hitter, 2 games isn't going to change that. Not to mention, I really like Ale down in the order. Anywho, the Sox-Astros alcs followed by Sox-Marlins WS is starting to look pretty good. It'd be different if he actually hit the ball hard and went 0-10. Instead, he's popping up and striking out on pitches out of the zone. Like Jake said, he's not ready. I'm all for letting him play as long as Gordon can't, but he shouldn't be hitting second, one of the most important spots in the lineup. I'm surprised we've scored 12 runs so far with a big black hole in the 2 spot.
  15. They just reviewed a neighborhood play in the Cubs game and overturned the original ruling. The guys on MLB Network are going crazy saying you can't review the neighborhood play (and it turns out that it is not reviewable).
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 05:55 PM) One rough inning then good. Abreu doesn't seem to give a s*** about the cold. And neither does Alexei.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 05:33 PM) I think we always say this kind of thing coming off a rough year, but they lose that game last year. Heh, I bet some said that last year (we started out pretty well).
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 05:32 PM) I think Leury put himself ahead of Semien for the role of super sub when Gordon returns The speed is nice. I do think Semien is a better defender and a better hitter though. Leury's never going to slug above .350. Nor will he get on base enough.
  19. MLB.tv's feed stopped right after Dunn fouled off the 3-1 pitch. After it recovered, the Sox were already celebrating. It was a nice surprise.
  20. Adam Dunn looked like he didn't even know Garcia was going to score.
  21. Alexei should be hitting second tomorrow.
  22. Alright Adam, do something positive.
  23. That's a lot of respect for a rookie with one game under his belt.
  24. Semien looks a lot like Matt Forte. Unfortunately he also hits like him.
