  1. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 03:16 PM) I didn't make this, but I ran across it and I thought it'd be an interesting share. It's interesting to visualize how consistently certain statistics come from certain positions. 2013 MLB Batting By Position Wow, those DH hitting stats don't seem right.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:45 PM) There's a .400 point OPS between his LH and RH splits. We're keeping Konerko as a part time DH who may randomly steal playing time from our most important and valuable prospect for less extreme splits than that. There's a difference when you're thinking about platooning a leadoff hitter, especially when he gets on base 35% of the time against lefties. His career numbers vs. lefties are also much better than what they were last year at .241/.340/.341, good enough for a .310 wOBA. It's not worth it to platoon him and he isn't "barely a platoon outfielder".
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 03:12 PM) Jesus, I don't even follow basketball that much, but the Bulls FO is just totally f***ing incompetent. They're the most stale front office in all of sports. No creativity, ultra conservative, and extremely clingy to home-grown talent.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) The Patriots offense kind of sucks with out Gronk. And their defense is nothing to write home about.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) They are one of about 4 teams I'd put money on to win it all. That's absolutely fair to say. I still think Seattle (especially since they're gonna play home games) and Denver are much better bets to win it.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 02:31 PM) Against righties last year: .317/.457/.554/1.011 Against lefties: .215/.347/.265/.612 I'm well aware of his splits. That doesn't negate the fact that he hit .285/.423/.462 overall last year despite those crappy numbers against lefties. Those aren't the numbers of a platoon outfielder at best. Platooning for Choo wouldn't make a ton of sense unless his platoon partner also hits leadoff and can get on base at a .350+ clip.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 07:56 PM) Dude, they were playing on the road against a very good team and still won. You're grasping at straws because they are the hottest team in football right now, winning 6 straight. Oh how quickly we forget that the same 49er team nearly lost to Atlanta at home. SF's a really good team, but I don't think they're the best team in the NFL, even with Crabtree.

I almost lost because Chauncey Billups was more or less unstoppable. I hate how they just have certain games where you're bound to lose. The CPU deflects passes with their back to the ball, they make pretty much every shot, and you miss wide open ones. There's easier ways to create adversity for the player than straight up cheating 2K...
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 03:20 PM) The same Cardinals team that would have won the NFC North division by several games with their record and the #1 rated rush defense? The best team in the NFL doesn't relinquish a 17 point lead. The original post was about how SF has been playing like the best team in the NFL since the return of Crabtree.
  10. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 04:46 PM) This is very true, so it's important to keep in mind while speculating. Plenty of "3rd round guys" right now will end up going in the 1st, and vice-versa. With that said, these are some 1st round names I'd keep on the Bears radar: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix - S - Alabama Khalil Mack - OLB - Buffalo Louis Nix III - DT - Notre Dame CJ Mosley - ILB/OLB - Alabama With how Vacarro helped that Saints defense this year, you'd think a good early pick at safety can do wonders for this defense.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) I hope HaHa Clinton-Dix is available for the Bears at 14. I can't believe he's actually called HaHa.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) Yeah, it sucks. I beat OKC in a seven game series to advance to the conference semis, and it pulls up the schedule and wont let me advance to any games. I'm just sort of stuck there. I'm not alone in having this bug. 2K's sloppiness strikes again...
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) Wait, if the ball is on the ground and nobody is playing it, it is a dead ball? Wut? No ball is dead until the whistle's blown. No whistle was blown, so that's not a dead ball.
  14. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 02:19 PM) Eh, the 49ers have looked like the best team in football since Crabtree has come back. They also beat GB early in the season without Crabtree while GB had a healthy Matthews. They almost lost to the Cardinals yesterday after being up 17-0. Green Bay will have a chance, although I still think the Niners will run all over them.
  15. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 06:34 AM) Wow, the Sox didnt make their top 5 best offseasons but the Tigers, Tampa Bay, and St Louis did? What? This sentence also didn't make a whole ton of sense: Yes, he sucks against lefties, but guys who platoon are usually guys who struggle so much against one sort of pitcher that their entire statline would suffer if they hit against them. Shoo led-off last year (most PAs on team) and still had a .400+ OBP, despite 221 PAs against lefties. Not to mention he still got on at a .347 clip against them.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 02:01 PM) But did you find the TRADE FINDER feature? I selected Boozer and went to TRADE FINDER and had 22 deals to sift through. Most were pretty bad, but the Lakers were dangling Gasol (and Jodie Meeks) for Boozer and Taj. I jumped all over that deal to get the expiring. I also downloaded next year's legit draft class and happen to have the Jazz's 1st round pick (the AI does not value those properly). I put Deng into the TRADE FINDER and had 29 offers, including Batum straight up. But honestly, Deng's pretty decent in that game, and I'd rather have the expiring. Clearly hoping one of the studs opts out. Oh awesome, I'm gonna have to try that out. I'll also try to trade for the first pick. I downloaded next year's draft class. I'd love to have a guy like Jabari or Randle coming off my bench. My team is pretty stacked at SF/PF ATM with Durant and Lee.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) Sounds like the first few episodes of Community are pretty great. This season needs to be good, otherwise we're probably not getting that 6th season.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 27, 2013 -> 06:43 AM) The controls for NBA 2k14 Piss me off. Also, no GM will trade for Luol Deng. It's impossible to pull off a trade that is beneficial to you in that game. You always have to trade a guy with a higher ranking for a guy with a lower one, otherwise the other GM just won't budge. I wanted to trade Ibaka (84) for Al Horford (82) and the CPU wanted more. Both are 3.5 star players. I threw in a draft pick and they took it. I think you need to gather some sort of negotiation skill (one you need to buy with VC) or some s*** to pull off better trades.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) It is. But...just wait until you've played a whole 82 game season, win a first round playoff series in 7 games, and then not be able to advance to the next round because of a bug in the game. That's where I'm at. It's depressing and very frustrating. Wait, what?
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) With 71 ballots made public, Frank is looking good to get in. http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/newsst...ollecting_gizmo Awesome! Frank really should get in on the first ballot.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 11:26 PM) My thoughts that no one cares about: -Despite the result, that was a fun game to be at. Wasn't too cold, lots of excitement, and Packers fans are very friendly, albeit cheesy. And let's be honest. "Anything can happen" in the playoffs, but it wasn't gonna happen with the Bears secondary, no way they win 4 in a row. Just hurts cause it was a repeat of 2010/11 -Not to harp on one single play or blame it on Trestman, but that fumble return TD was killer, never would have happened under Lovie. Play until the whistle blows, every ball is live. It wasn't just one Bear, they were all staring at it. Had a Bear picked it up, he could have easily rumbled past midfield, maybe even a touchdown - Chris Conte sucks -Cutler, Cutler, Cutler. He missed some throws early, but overall played a pretty good game, just not enough. His record vs the Packers does suck, but exactly who can you bring in next year to beat them? I don't really trust McCown to play so well for 16 games. The Browns, Jets, Vikings, Rams, Cardinals, etc. have proven that it's not that easy to find a QB. IMO, ideally they sign him to a non-franchise level contract and draft a lower round QB they like with the intent of giving him 2-3 years as a backup. I can't argue against Cutler's flaws, but the concern is that it could take you another 10+years to find another QB in a passing driven league. I said to a buddy of mine three weeks ago that I just want to watch meaningful games. That was when the Bears were 6-6, little did I know that they'd win their next two only to drop the last two. Still, they gave me meaningful games to watch, which is what I wanted out of the last quarter of the season. And yeah, this was the most meaningful Bears game in 2 years and it was a pretty good game, so there's that.
  22. Hahahaha, no Romo, no problem. The Cowboys choke again. Everything was setup for them to drive down the field and kick a game winning FG. Of course, they screw it up.
  23. The Cowboys just got a 5 yard penalty because of a playclock malfunction. It went from 40 seconds to 25 seconds.
  24. The Eagles just got stuffed on 4th and inches on the goal line. This is going to be a very interesting finish.
  25. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 09:38 PM) Pretty bad idea not to call a fair catch. Surprised he hung on. Did that result in a flag? Cause I think I saw the ref reach for his flag in the GIF.
