  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 02:15 PM) So someone quickly educate me since I'm not a big NFC North guy. Are all 3 teams still in the hunt for the division crown? Only the Bears and Packers.
  2. QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 02:12 PM) Agreed. I think a big part of the reason that the defense is having trouble creating turnovers is because the defense lost 3 pro bowlers though. Think about the roster turnover. Lovie had continuity on the defense for many years. He wouldn't have had that this year. Players like Roach, Idonije, and Urlacher were around for a while. That combined with the number of injuries is just a recipe for disaster. Losing Tillman was huge. He was good for at least 1 forced fumble every 2 games.
  3. Wow, last night's loss put the Bears' point differential to -28.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) Bears are allowing 5.40 ypc this year. Sixth worst in league history. I didn't realize it was that bad. It's pretty routine to see other teams run a 5-6 yard play, so I'm not surprised whatsoever.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:39 PM) Although McCown's numbers are a bit skewed cause of the INT drops that DBs/LBs should have made on him (as well as him facing bottom team defenses) this offense still looked much better going through him. He fits Trestman's West coast style much more than the gun slinger Cutler (his short passes, intelligence to read defenses and when to roll out and avoid pressure are much better). But.. I still would like to see Cutler in the same system for more than one year as well. Jay was so hesitant in the pocket tonight. Any sort of pressure caused him to hesitate, which led a good amount of his sacks tonight.
  6. With ESPN's reports of Rodgers not even coming close to playing, I'm not sure if Rodgers will even play next week.
  7. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:31 PM) Even though you called many Cutler bashers emotional posters and I hate to say I told you so... but I told you so I think it was quite evident that Cutler was the team's best option in previous years. However, all of that changed this year with Trestman, his offensive system, and McCown's play.
  8. Lacy may not play next week.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:30 PM) Getting Briggs back made us all optimistic but he looked like as bad of a player as any other on the defense. I don't think I saw him make a single tackle. Just him getting owned by linemen left and right.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:19 PM) The defense is bad. Really bad. Maybe Mel Tucker should be fired. I'll let our Scout-in-Chief Emery decide whether Tucker deserves to get another year with different personnel. They lost us today's game. What we need to figure out is whether Jay Cutler is worth our investment. Not whether he is worth the franchise tag or a long-term deal. Is he worth any deal? Are we better off rolling with a mixture of McCown/rookie/cheap FA project for the long-term future or Jay Cutler? These are the choices. We have a great offensive core locked up for a few more years. Best WR tandem in the NFL. A top-5 RB. A very good TE. An OL with real potential. If you sign Cutler, you're saying that core lives and dies with him. Are you comfortable with that? These are the questions we have to sort out. Jay is not showing me he's worth the time. McCown may or may not outplay Cutler next year, but the monetary investment will be relatively small and you'll be free to open the door to the next guy if it isn't panning out/you have the next guy ready. I've been a huge Jay fan. I've been the guy DA is mocking in this thread. I don't think I believe in [the boy from] Santa Claus anymore. I've defended Cutler for the past 4 years against irrational Bears fans. While their complaints were irrational, I'm not going to bother anymore. Cutler's had everything handed to him this year and he's still not an elite level QB. Meanwhile, a 34 year old journeyman outplayed him.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:17 PM) People here are saying fire Tucker, like the great Marinelli is doing so "amazing" with the Cowboys defense. Emery needs to draft DLs that can actually rush the QB (half of the problem right there) and a few other things regarding this defense. Marinelli isn't calling the shots in Dallas.
  12. Mel Tucker should be fired after this showing.
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) McCown in Dis gon be good.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:06 PM) That isn't Jay's fault. That't on Trestman. If he called a running play, that INT never would have happened. I hope you're being sarcastic.
  15. How is this defense so bad at stopping the run?
  16. McCoy looks like a damn cheat code.
  17. lol the ball fell down on an onside kick attempt.
  18. Jay, why are you throwing the ball to a fully covered Matt Forte? This is ridiculous.
  19. Please put McCown in. This is hard to watch.
  20. How are the Bears not doing jack s*** against a defense that gave up 41 to the Vikings last week WITHOUT Adrian Peterson? This is baffling.
  21. If the Bears play Cutler next week, I can pretty much guarantee a loss.
  22. I don't think the offense is even trying anymore.
  23. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) Play McCown save Cutler for GB. I wish it was the opposite. Thinking of Cutler playing the Packers gives me nightmares.
